Wow so really bad luck lately then mate.
at least it's all fixed up now. The bonnet I'm not sure yet. But as said above. Needs painting rising blue . Imo it looks put of place on a blue car. But your car it's what you like.

Cheers Jack, it's not to everyones taste, but I wasn't sure when it came in, but I have a habit of just taking a risk, I think it worked, i absolutely love it.
When I was earthing the high to lo converters a screw dropped into the HU. I didn't realise you can take the facia off and shake the screw out, i forgot about it and then I guess it shifted and shorted something out inside.. not ideal lol.
Could be a lot worse, airbags could have gone off or something lol.
also will be getting carbon front wings, and carbon rear spoiler. I will be painting the badge blue though.
DAN180Y wrote:devastating about that deer and how the hell did your rcd set on fire could of been much worse i guess.
i seen you post the pictures in the facebook owners club were both in didnt realise how much damage youv actually taken from that vile creature, nightmare![]()
not sure about the bonnet mind better than a ruined one though haha

Re: Scirocco CR170 "Project Racek0r"
Got new boots all round and a fast road alignment set up
Vredestein Ultrac Vorti's. Coming from Goodyear Eagle F1 Asy2

I also got a new front badge through which I am going to paint blue to match the car.. just both the paint shops I went to over the weekend didn't have aerosol cans to mix up Rising Blue for me...so I'm going to order the paint online.
Going to Pod at the weekend hoping to beat my 14.2 best.

Re: Scirocco CR170 "Project Racek0r"
Post pod update.
I did manage to beat my time!
I went up to VW Action with mate my Royce , then found out it was £60 sign on fee! Cheeky buggers.
Was there anyway so coughed up.
Had 7 or 8 runs, beating my original PB of 14.22 with a 14.08, then oops.....

Pretty sure that something's wrong there haha.
Royce towed me a little bit up the road with a borrowed tow-rope

Something seems to have been missing from the end of the shaft.....

Completely ruined that lol, spline sheered off and took the hub nut out with it.

My mate Alex at AKS very very kindly came up from his Workshop with a spare driveshaft and hub nut. What a lad.

Swapped it over, nice and easy, drove home. Result.

Was also busy at the weekend .

Considering I rattle-canned it outside and didn't flat/polish it, really happy.

Didn't really like the black on black. looked weird.

Much better IMO.

Not normally a fan of colour coded badges but it works really well against the carbon.

Yeh blue badge works much better.
I still think the bonnet needs spraying blue though.

Thanks mate, I saw it done on another car on Google (without the vents though) and took the plunge, for the sake of £30 for a new badge and some paint lolDave7692 wrote:Not normally a fan of colour coded badges but it works really well against the carbon.

Re: Scirocco CR170 "Project Racek0r"
What torque are you running? I had a PD130 Ibiza previously that I was running 240bhp and 380ft/lb abs never had any issues with drive shafts! Bit of an inconvenience that!

Re: Scirocco CR170 "Project Racek0r"
Had a trackday with a few mates at a very wet and rainy Mallory Park
Unfortunately it ended up in a recovery home for my mate who smashed up his MX5.
My Scirocco was OK but the brakes caused me no end of problems.
The RS4-2s would cause pad build up meaning MASSIVE steering vibration (shaking the whole car) and it felt like the subframe was going to fall off.
Shame really as they stopped the car well and there was absolutely no fade and I was pushing it hard, the rainy conditions were handled well by the car.
I also knew how bad the subframe was with the shifting but it was again a problem on the tracky day making some pretty horrible noises.
To this end I have purchased a Tyrolsport Deadset Kit from Alex @ AKS Tuning . It comes with some ARP bolts to replace some shite OEM ones, I'm going to get a complete set of replacement bolts for the subframe anyway to mount when fitting the subframe kit.
Also have some Powerflex rear arm bushes to go in as well as mine have had it and that will be pretty much the whole car Polybushed then.
Going to fit both as they will require an alignment after and no point doing it twice. Will aim to do this in a few weeks.
Looking at getting fresh discs and some new pagids, either some Project MU H18s or Pagid RS29 Yellows.
Time will tell.

By any chance don't you have any videos from inside or outside how does the car goes around circuit?

Unfortunately no videos - I took my Go-Pro but you weren't allowed helmet mounts.
I was trying to sneak it on while I was driving but it's very hard lol.
