Spare key for free!

Post by Sandrex »

To the person that may have my 20ish month old Candy white Roc, reg CE60___ . I have the spare key.
Let me explain my tale of woe. The company I work for went into 'administration' :( , we came out 6 months later :)
Unfortunately for me, my company car was the only one that the lease company would not carry over the lease
to the new company. Therefore my pride and joy was snatched from me whilst in work by the heavy mob :(
Lease company being VW boooo (they happily took payment whilst in admin tho!).
She's been taken straight to the auction house for sale hopefully to a caring owner.
If you are the new owner, drop me a line with the final three letters of the registration and I'll post them to you.

Please enjoy as much as I did, only mark is a small scuff on the near side front alloy.

Gone but not forgotten.

PS to VW lease  Pick up my new Volvo S60 R-Design in white Friday

Congratulations. You are the lucky winner of a brand new key. Hope 'they' took care of the car prior to you buying it.

I don't seem able to contact you! I'm in Rugby. Are you in the area? failing that PM me your address and I'll post it to you.

Regards Andy.

no problems i just remembered that thread as it made reference to VW Finance and a quick look colour, year, and engine seemed to tie up

good to help fellow members and avoid them unnecessary expenditure at the dealers

I'll send an e-mail to you when I post them. Hopefully Saturday.

Hope you enjoy the car. I certainly did. I took the factory option to de-badge it. Think it looks cleaner/meaner!!

Car is a manual 6 speed box. Did not get any options to keep the tax man away!!

Had no problems with it. Had vibrating noise from under bonnet. Worked out it was the bonnet stay resonating!!

If I think of anthing else I'll add it to the e-mail.

Regards Andy.

Thank s Andy for confirming its 6 speed manual I can insure it now
Why I ask is, I have the V5 registration cert and it states the it is SCIROCCO GT TDI 170 S-A
I guess the SA stands for semi-automatic; also the confusing part is when I put in reg for insurance quotes it also says automatic. Should I tell the DVLA?

Hi Alan,
I never got to see the V5 which might explain why I was getting taxed based on it being a 'R'!!
Still causing me issues with the tax man now!! Might be an idea to tell DVLA to put the record straight.
Hope you enjoy it. Wish I still had, though I'm pleased with the Volvo, makes a nice noise being 5 cylinders.

Got to sign off now. going for a pint to cool down!

ATB Andy.

My V5 is wrong too as it states mine is a S/A too even although it's a manual however the VED band is correct for a manual so never got round to telling DVLA.

No, because I selected the car manually and not from the reg plate.

Hi again

I wouldn't have thought so but you never know with Insurance companies :-)

Only real difference is CO2 value, DSG is slightly more than the manual and puts it in a higher band.

With regard to the DVLA and the S-A bit, mine is the same too, but it isnt the DVLA who keep this info on their system. I have called them about it and they cant help. The V5 doesn't state the transmission type.

I think it is something to do with an insurance database, but have never been able to find out who you contact to get it changed.

Well done finding the new owner for the key - that is a spot of luck!
I can rely on my car, it's my Roc!!!

I acually blamed the dealer for making an error when registering the car but the dealer showed me all the papaerwork they passed to DVLA when registering and it was correct.

I think the error has come when the manufacturer / importer has given the description against the VIN number to the DVLA. I would have thought DVLA had control of the information as the MID is based on their info.

To be honest doesn't bother me as the VED banding is correct, which is all that matters. If you are worried about insurance then just don't opt for the reg look up and select the car manually.

It is definately not the DVLA that hold the information, although you would think that they do.
