iPod Connectivity

Post by Jaydee »

My sincere apologies if this has been answered before - a quick search didn't help me.

My iPod has an intermittent problem of suddenly ceasing to be. The display says either Aux, or Media has no function (or similar). I then find my iPod hasn't chnarged. Yet at other times it's fine. I have tried another iPod BTW, same happens.

I have had my Candy since May last year (just realised it is her birthday tomorrow), and all was absolutely tickety boo until her service in March.

Does this problem ring any bells with you? What advice do you have?

Thank you

It does happen from time to time i'm afraid. Since updating the firmware a year ago(if your car is a year old it will have the latest firmware) to solve other issues it has happened three or four times. I just unplug and plug back in . Then wait a bit and it will start charging and be fine.
I don't think there is a known cure. It is annoying when it happens but for me it's easier to live with than the skipping noises and sticking track display etc of the old firmware.

Hi I've had the same problem for the past year, media device no function, and initialisation message, got round to taking it in to the dealers and now it's sorted! A new mdi unit in the armrest and an upto date software applied, all done under warranty. Hope this helps

Thank you both. I will talk to VW at MK - my local - to see what they can offer.

It's worth five minutes of your time to try the firmware update guide below. I just did it now and was easy to do
