ANNOYING noise!

Post by mtezel »

Hi there everyone!

I've lately come across 2 very annoying noises coming from my 2 month old Roc'.

1- A noise as if theres metal rubbing against each other coming from the front left wheel.

2-When using the paddle-shift changing from 1st to 2nd gear!

I've read that this may be common on a DSG7, however is there a way to resolve these noises? :bang:

welcome to the club my friend ... 1.4 TSI with DSG7 too and from the first time i hear the annoying sound when you are in rough road with 1/2 or 3rd gear !
You cant fix this sounds ... All dsg7 (audi,vw,seat, skoda) have the same noises ! Also the noises are much more when the engine/gearbox is warm(after 1 hour drive)
You can hear the gear changing at all gears but more at 1/2/3 . Like a clack!
And if you are with 3rd and you must go over a bump and you brake before it downshift to 2nd you go over the bump and you hear the annoying metal song
Are all these like i said?
All DSG7 do the same sounds . All they say it is normal . The sound is because the other gear on the other axle has no power and it is free and it is playing with the other gear .. But after maaaany miles it will not break??
This is the characteristic sound of the DSG
Enjoy

Thanks Daz & The_winner for the quick reply.

OH WELL, might as well get use to it then!
These kinds of problems make me want to play with the engine for some reason :) I asked VW for the chip and they said 2000EUROS!!! (but wont affect warranty because they do it)
isn't that a bit too expensive??
and what if i add a forge intake, would that also affect the warranty?

best modification is to put a intercooler from Audi S3
To cool the intake air more ... your engine will thank you !
also a better panel filter and a full exhaust ....
