Tesco Diesel

Post by RJM85 »

Ive been talking to one of my mates who told me that using Tesco diesel is a really bad idea, apparently the quality of the fuel is really poor? Has anyone else heard this? I used to run my BMW on Shell v-power diesel, but that didnt run well on any standard diesel.

Anyone got any experience or pointers on this?

Many thanks! :)

I do over 600 miles a week using Tesco diesel and it runs perfectly. All fuel in the UK has to meet a minimum standard and Tesco would never risk their reputation on selling sub-standard fuel.

There is a lot of snobbery around with regards to supermarket fuel :-)

I doubt that there is anything wrong with it.
However I wouldn't put it in my car ....... as its a 1.4 TSi

Your mate sounds very similar to a pair of testicles telling you that Greece was a financially secure economy, they'd both be talking bollocks.

Pay extra cash for fancy sounding fuel oil? Pah! More money than sense.

Super unleaded vs unleaded is different, but diesel is diesel no matter what Shell or BP claim.

I'll get me hat.......

I will concede though that some of premium fuels will have additional additives, whether they are worth the extra is personal opinion.

People should just buy what they are happy buying and let everyone else do the same.
