I drive a: GT 2.0 TDI 140/150
In: Candy White
With a: Manual box
Options: Leather, Nav, Parking Sensors, Factory De-badge. H&R -35 springs, Premium Mats, Boot Liner, Full interior LED swap, LED sides/No plate.
Coming Mods: Covered cup holder, covered storage cubby, R32 Spun Alloy dash trim, Slatted/Painted lower grille swap. Retrofit Cruise, OEM Alloy Pedals.

PDI - How long??

Hi all,

Just wondered in everyone's experience how long the PDI usually takes by a UK dealer?

Reason being I have been informed that my 'Roc is due to be delivered to the dealer on Monday (16th) :D
However they are saying it could be 7 days before it's ready for delivery to me...which seems a very long time to me? Based on previous experience of new cars, including several VW's and an Audi I would have expected 2-3 days between delivery to the car being in my sweaty little hands?!

Is that being unrealistic?

Depends what else they have got that needs pdi'ing Nick the actual process is not very long at all its just when the dealer can schedule it in

Yeah I suppose it is a bit of a `How long's a piece of string' really? Was just after a general idea of how long others had waited really?

I'll give them a call on Monday and see what they can do, it was supposed to be delivered to me but I'm happy to go and pick it up if it means I get it a bit earlier!!

Mine came off the transporter on the Friday and was PDI'd and delivered on the Saturday. Only takes a couple of hours to carry out the PDI

My dealer talked about 7 days for a PDI, I managed to get them down to 2 days which I still thought was slow - both the Vauxhall dealer and Mini dealer PDI'd my previous two cars as they came off the transporter and I took delivery the same day they arrived at the dealer.

It will obvioulsy depend when it is and the availability of a slot and how desperate they want to get the car out. If it's at the end of a quarter then they will try a little harder :-)

Spoken to them this morning and they've said it'll be ready and delivered on Wednesday!! :-)
