Bluetooth premium problems

Post by Fraserd007 »

I have just fitted the bluetooth premium kit works perfectly apart from syncing with my iPhone phonebook it just comes up with the number/name and loads of random characters, it comes up ok on my call list just not when I access the phonebook. Anyone else had this problem?

To be honest I'm not sure I think it's just called the Bluetooth premium kit. You basically should find it when doing a Bluetooth search with your phone

You find it from the car if its factory bluetooth. Go through the menus on the instrument cluster until you find phone then do a phone search,if you cant find phone menu you probably haven't got bluetooth.

Sorry, i dont think i was very clear there. I know i have Bluetooth as it is standard on the GT model and i have used it no problem.

What i am unsure of is which Bluetooth system i have, whether its a standard system or the premium. One thing i cannot do is see text messages on the RCD510 or the MFD and i have seen this on other VW's.

Not sure if i need another Bluetooth module or the exisitng system can be recoded to support the text message display function. :)

Hi all,

I have just got myself a 2009 2.0 TSI GT with bluetooth, it can see my iphone4 when it does a device search but doesn't give me the option to pair it and then puts up an error saying this phone is not compatible, am I missing something?
(My phone doesnt find the bluetooth device)

Just to follow up on my own post,IF you have a jailbroken iphone there is an app available from cydia called RSAP server which will enable your iphone to connect with bluetooth, costs about $20 US
