would you accept it?

Post by tildesley »

i've always wondered people's opinion's on this, "dealer advertising"

cars i often see around here all have dealer added window stickers & even badges with "myvolkswagan.co.uk" advertised, i've seen worse than that, I've seen Scirocco's with the "vindis" group logo stuck on the boot, it looks shocking, a black car with tacky red writing below the badge.

thankfully my scirocco was brought from a place that didn't do this, but if you didnt know a dealer did this & then turned up to collect & it had been graffitied in this way, would you really accept? i know i wouldn't!

small rant over :grumpy:

No, I don't either.

I tell the dealer to not even think about putting a sticker inside the rear window.

My last 2 cars have been via Vindis...

All I had to do on both occasions was ask them to not put any dealer stickers when placing the order. It goes on the order form, and the sales exec duly makes sure there are none on the car when u come to collect it!

Job done no stress involved!

No objection to a discreet sticker in the rear window but I wouldn't accept any kind of badge on the body work. Only ever bought from one dealer who tended to add them (a Ford dealer) and I made it quite clear that if there was such a badge on my car I wouldn't be accepting it.

Don't think I can have been the only one as I noticed they stopped doing it a few years ago.

I had a window sticker on the rear window, they removed it especially when iirc, it says something in the manual itself about having stickers one the rear window can damage the heating elements. Don't quote me on that but I remember taking the manual and pointing to something and within an hour it was done.

I made a point to my dealer that I wasnt speanding £25k on a car to advertise their dealership for them, so they were not to put any stickers on my car - they didnt.
I can rely on my car, it's my Roc!!!

We are advertising VW by driving around in a VW. VW has got an excellent reputation for quality products - so if you want a VW from dealer you will always go the one that is local.

Mine came with a sticker at the base of the rear screen from West London VW. I didn't think to ask them to remove it but on the drive home from the dealer it was apparent that it was compromising rear visibility in the mirror. It was only a small sticker but between that and the rear head restrains rearward visibility was far less than I was used to in my old car. It took 10 seconds to remove.

Mine had a sticker at the top of the rear window, removed it as soon as I got home. The rear visibilty is low in the Scirocco already without somebody making it worse.
