ESP and Warning Traingle Questions

Post by robbo »

Just picked up a new reflex silver 2.0T today, it's a great car, but I'm not sure about a couple of things,

I pressed the ESP button, but there was no indication if it was on or off. On the previous generation Audi TT you would get a warning light to show if it was off, is this normal?

Also there is no warning triangle and medical kit in the boot, are these standard?

As I understand it, when you press the ESP button the button does not change, but the traction control light in the speedo will start to flash slowly.

You need to hold down the ESP button for a couple of seconds and then you will get the flashing light on the dash.

Thanks for the replies, I won't be bothering the dealer on Monday.

Looking forward to getting it run in over the next few weeks. It's a big change from my last car an A4 Avant 2.0 TDI, I had a mid life crisis, now I'm back to driving something more sensible, you only live once...

The mid life crisis was when a got the A4, I'm over it now, or for the next 3 years until the lease is up...

My dealer told me the warning triangle was now standard and it was included, I didn't get a first aid kit!!

Yep, ESP light flashes slowley on the instrument panel when turned off - took me a while to spot

I got a first aid kit but no triangle. Is the part # for the triangle still valid - can't see it in the accessories brochure?

An a4 2.0 TDI is considered more "mid life" than a 2.0 TSI scirocco?

it should be seventysix, if you are going in to order it i'm sure the parts department can tell you if its not. as mentioned the first aid kit & triangle aren't standard spec in the uk but are elsewhere.

I got a full first aid kit and warning triangle with mine, whether it was 'thrown in' or just standard supply I didn't ask.
