Your Average Consumption For Your Scirocco ? Please RE-VOTE

Post by candyboytsi210 »

Hey Guys,

Had to update the poll due to Forgetting to put engine size/and also Scirocco R of course. Please RE-VOTE

Just a quick poll to see what the average consumption is for Rocco's

CandyBoy122

(( ok so after abit of comments on the post itself. in my mind i was wrong and there are differences between the 122 and 160ps (stock) and aslo the 140 and 170 TDI ))

i would appreicate it if you could state your votes again.

Hopefully this covers mostly everything , ( not mapped or modded)

As for putting only 122, it is pretty similar to the 160ps so if you do own a 160 please put it under the 122 . thanks guys.

Lets see how we do.

It really isn't.

To get any real sense you also need to include if the cars mapped or not plus the usual type of driving (mainly urban, etc). More accurate and better for people to just post as they have been with engine, mpg, main driving type and mapped or not surely?

Here, here.

The only time a 160PS is similar to a 122PS engine in characteristic is on cold start during the first 15 - 45 seconds when the Supercharger is inhibited by the control flap being in full boost dump configuration. And that besides the map or no map situation.

having driven both i can tell you they are quite different. besides it would be interesting to see how they compare. i'd also be interested to see if there is a tangible difference between the 140 and 170 tdi

Doesn't seem enough choices for TDI - unless you've got something wrong with your TDI, or you drive like a complete loon 100% of the time, or you have a 2 mile commute to work i'd expect everyone to average over 40mpg. how about 45/50/55 increments for TDI?

How about separating the TDIs out and see if the Bluemotion does much for the average user e.g 140TDI pre-BM,140TDI BM and 170 TDI.

Mine (170) averages (summer/Winter) 46/49 around the doors, mixed roads 11 mile commute normally, 48/52 as before, if i'm driving very carefully, and 55/60 mpg on a motorway journey maintaining an indicated 75 to 80mph.

Pishpashposh: Having had the 140 and the 170, for me there's about 2mpg in it between the 2. The 170 is a little thirstier, but 2mpg is hardly a sacrifice to make when that extra power makes such a huge difference, and the 170 has a much better engine note than the 140 too.

IMO you'd be mad to get a 140 over a 170 for what is essentially 3% higher list price (if you were considering a 140GT, that is!) unless you're on a company scheme or Motability that wont stretch to the 170. That extra £700 odd quid for the 170 (of which you'll see half back when you trade in) is far better value than any optional extra.

I do alot of motorway driving , combined with a little bit of country and city roads on my daily commute, on the motorway on the live mpg, i get around 36 mpg trying to stay at a constant 70mph.
