one-touch window reset

Post by madmacstew »

Went to move the car this morning, when I closed the door the window didn't close fully. Sure enough, the one-touch window control need to be reset:

Run the window(s) down halfway on the manual controls
Close them fully and hold the control switch for 2-3 seconds
Release switch for a second or so
Hold in 'close' position for about 5 seconds - window(s) should now function normally.

Interesting design flaw, as my wife's 2006 mk1 TT has the same issue from time to time - you'd think VAG would have found a permanent solution by now!

I wonder if R8s and Bentley Continentals have the same problem?

Its not so much a flaw as a feature, was you window frozen at some point by any chance ?

Have had Vauhall Coupes since 2000 and they have a similar window feature but never had a problem with frost or need to reset in 10 years and 120000 miles!! Was surprised that VW/Audi have this problem and not sorted it.
