Hi all,

Just received my TSi GT 210 and was hoping to get cruise control retrofitted.

Reading the thread it seems that VW were still to release the kit to do this on post week 45 (2010) models - are there any updates?

Thanks in advance

Hi John,

As far as I am aware, VW are still to release the retrofit kit to their dealers. As the post above yours and around the forum suggest, you can do it yourself and this is the best way if you need to get it done quickly. There is also a bloke from vwcruise.com who can fit it for you. Used him myself as have others on the eos forum.

Yes he can do the cars from the change in late November 2009. My car is a June 2010 and he has confirmed when I brought it to him that it is possible. It's £300.

I paid for upgrade to be fitted at dealer when I bought the car only to be told at pick up that it was not possible!

Now have confirmation from Heritage at Salisbury that it will be available May, Jun this year! No confirmation on price yet!

Vinny,

I live in Somerset. Buy the bits and I will do it for you. Takes about an hour ish. I did it on my R =, and I am not sure why they are saying May........... It is available now.

It doesn't take long to do, I cheated and got a VW to fit it for me as he was used to removing steering wheel etc.

Coding with VCDS 10.6.2 was easy.

Hey guys,

I've still been following this thread with interest as I'm still waiting for it to be fitted.

It's good news that it can be done now but are they able to do it in the dealerships yet?

Sorry to go on, but if you're as technically oblivious as myself when you come to these sort of things, you'll realise why I've been chasing my tail for the last year and a bit! Could anyone be good enough to list the exact parts that you need and what technical wizardry is required?

Thanks :)

hey guys, I've been following this thread with interest.

I finally got the bits delivered to the dealers this afternoon and took it to a place to help with fitting. When we assembled the whole lot back together, my horn stopped working and I was getting a warning light on the dash that looked like a coil. At this point we stuck the old D variant of the slip ring controller back in but left the new stalks. I can confirm that applying the coding with just the new stalks doesn't work.

Does anyone have an idea why the horn might have stopped working and why I was getting the warning light? I'm going to have another play later this weekend hopefully as I never got around to putting the new code in when the H revision was installed - I got scared when the horn stopped! Also, is changing the drop down in 16-Steering module to the 'Cruise installed with stalk' option the only thing that needs to be changed in VAGCOM?

Thanks

Cruise control 2010 retro fit.

Post by armjcb »

Is it possible to fit cruise control to the latest model of the Roc? (Sept 2010) after reading several of the posts I am still unclear if you can do it your self or it is a specialist job and are the parts available form dealers or any other suppliers????

Been there, seen it, done it, got the cruise control, do a search, there are several threads that tell you how to do it.
