Do flutter type dump valves not need to vent to atmosphere? Which if that's the case no, as VAG use recirculating type dump valves.

They don't run too well using ones that vent to atmosphere.

so if i buy a forge dump valve and block it off so that the air can not ascape and will go back though the turbo will this make the blades spin backwards to make the sound? Only reason i ask is that there was a rocco in reading the other day which had one and it sounded mint!

Do you mean the Tsssshhhhhhh type noise ? (like in video below), DONT buy a forge and then block it off !!!!, the noise of a blow off dump valve is so 2000 LOL, and V Chavy IMO of course

Your on about compressor stall if you fit an open induction kit like the itg etc you will hear it,the whole idea of a dump valve is to stop compressor stall

Didn't realise the sound was caused by the turbo blades going backwards :D

Like i said you need an open airfilter to be able to hear compressor stall as it will echo back through the inlet tract

Does the dump valve release while your accelerating? Just fitted one and it releases when turbo kicks in

But why would you deliberately want compressor stall, might as well stick a potato in your exhaust pipe while you're at it, lol
