Just joined this site hoping to identify a fault with my DSG gearbox. It seems that my dealer is struggling!
I took delivery of my Scirocco 2.0GT. TDi. DSG Bluemotion vehicle on 9th. March this year and it has covered about 2200miles.
Occasionally it will slip out of gear (usually D2) and into 'neutral' instead of selecting D3 leaving me sitting there (middle of the road sometimes!) with a revving engine.
Before I have chance to respond it will then select 3 (not D3) according to the display, the whole event probably takes about 5 seconds.
Any ideas please?

Should just be a warranty job. If you do a search for mechatronics you'll find a few people with similar symptoms.

YES! Mine does this. So annoying...(and potentially dangerous?) - had it happen to me when I was pulling out into oncoming traffic once. Mine is also a 2.0tdi bluemotion. Wondered if it was a problem with the software or actually a mechanical fault. Haven't got round to taking it in yet due to the garage being miles away and working all the time..but it must be covered by warranty surely..

bit of an extreme reaction to something that can be fixed under warranty - but I guess you had your reasons.sparky wrote:do what i did sell/trade vw are no what they was sad really
Most DSG problems seem to be with the mechatronics unit, which VW will authorise the dealer to replace under warranty after going through some fault finding processes (if my experience is anything to go by).
