Tyres and jacking

Post by Digiman »

Can someone tell me where a tyre company would jack the front of the car up if I took it in for a couple of tyres. Want to make sure they jack the car up in the proper place.

Would have went to my local dealer for the tyres but they wanted about £26 a tyre more than Tyreshopper for Bridgestones.

Also I am due for another new set of fronts and I was planning to put on another set of Bridgestone Potenzas. Is there anything better (cheaper) I should put on instead.

Try having a look at Kumho Ecsta Le Sport, they're a midrange tyre (£120 ea) but get very good reviews if you google them. I've just had some fitted, I'm happy with the performance but don't know what the wear rate is like yet.

I got a pair of Avon ZZ5's for £320 (I have 19" wheels btw). Great grip in the dry, good grip in the wet and quiet road noise. Would highly recommend them.

I had Ecsta's on my ST and loved them also, not tried them on the Scirocco.
