Can't seem to get the linking to work from my phone but if you have a look on the vauxhall site there is a link for free valuations from glasses guide. Not 100% but gives you an idea of what you should be looking for.

One thing to bear in mind is that the options won't really add anything to the value.

The options add significantly onto the value!

Sat Nav and Leather are the most value options as they increase sell on value.

use Glass' guide to see exactly what your car is worth to a dealer and negotiate even higher, cause at the end of the day they want to sell you the more expensive cars.

Have to disagree. The options made little difference to the price when i was in the trade although they do make a car more desirable. It's why the guides like CAP and glasses etc don't list separate option prices.

When I was contemplating leather on the new Roc my dealer talked me out of it - he said I would see about £300 back in 3 years time from £1740. With the comprehensive options the main poster has, I would expect them to enhance the basic spec value by £800-£1000. They do add value, but not much : 20% retained value is poor.

You are quite right maisbitt thats pretty much what I have been told by a family member who is a sales manager for VW. Back to the point for 15k im note sure its worth it to move to the R.

Thats a lot of cash, but in terms of enjoyment worth every penny - lifes too short to worry about a small thing called money and MPG get something that puts a smile on your face and of course a general nod of respect from other Roccers.

I traded my 2008 2.0 GT in May with 10,000 miles on the clock for an R with a good spec for £15 000. I was always disappointed with the GT as it wasn't a patch on the Mk V Golf GTI i i traded in for it, especially the handling. Rest assured, the R is awesome in comparison and handles far better than my idolised Golf GTI. On looks alone its worth the money, it's what the Scirocco should have looked like from day 1. It only guzzles juice when you floor it, but in terms of average consumption its only slightly worse than the GT and is returning 32 mpg when being sensible which isn't very often but who cares, go for it and you wont regret it.
