Motability Scirocco

Post by cookie22 »

I'm thinking about getting a 1.4 TSI 122PS scirocco on motability as a designated driver for my nan who is unable to drive herself and being her primary carer.

I was just wondering can you choose any optional extras when going through the motability scheme? Like viper green, 18" alloys.

I don't mind paying up front etc.

Also when youi get a motability car, can you modify it in any way while you have it.

Thanks,

Viper green wouldn't be classed as an extra as motability only let u have metallic colours anyway so it's covered in the price of the deposit.

Not modifications allowed unfortunately. Although if it is small stuff that you can take off when it goes for services or you return it then I guess you could get away with it. Risking invalidating your insurance though.

How about other optional extras you can have like parking sensors, xenon lights etc?

Can you have these if you pay extra?

Scirocco 1.4 tsi 122 on motability has an advance payment of £999 which includes metallic paint.

Any options you add above the standard specification you have to pay full list price for them and you don't get any money back for them after the 3 year term. Choose wisely !!!!!!

18" 'Interlagos' £445
Parking sensors £365
Xenon headlights £960

Options total £1170
Advance Payment £999
Total Payment £2169

It is possible to buy a car outright using Hire Purchase, but this does not include insurance, servicing, maintenance inc tyres and breakdown cover so if you add all those costs over 3 years it will work out cheaper on Contract Hire and you get a new car every 3 years.

The price on the VW web site is for the 160ps the 122ps is £999.
