DSG7 gearbox tremble in second gear

Hello boys & girls. I am from Athens-Greece and already member in our Greek forum. Nice to meeting you!

I aoplogise if this appears in another topic.

I am encountering a problem with my DSG7 with the following characteristics and wanted to see if anybody of you is facing the same:

-Gearbox under my feet is vibrating
-Beginning of second gear (low revs)
-Drive mode only
-Car warmed enough (let’s say 10 miles)
-This was noticed after a recommended upgrade of the engine during the 15,000km (9,300 miles) first service

I took it to my dealer and he told me that VW recommended an upgrade of the DSG unit.

Upgrade was done but problem still remains.

Many guys here in Greece were facing the same problem with their DSG7 (I am not aware of any issue with DSG6). After unsuccessful upgrades they had to go for gear change in their gearbox.

Hi unfortunately I don't have access to the french forum...I will take it on Monday and try to test it with the technician onboard, hopefully the Murphy's law won't apply and I will be able to show him the problem. I have heard that gearboxes produced before Dec-09 have this problem. I am afraid that the solution will be to change bits & pieces inside the gearbox...it will break my heart to see openning the DSG

I'm new here, actually don;t drive a Rocco (shame on me..) but a golf. Reason for visiting here is that I'm having trouble with my DSG7 transmission. When googling the problem, I found this forum, talking about the DSG7 tremble. It sounds exactly the same as the problem I have with my golf.

Does anyone know what the fix for this problem is? I'm dropping my car off at the dealers next week, would be nice to know what the problem could be..

I also have this DSG7 gearbox. I think i have the same problem.i have this vibration that starts with the start of the 2nd gear and ends at mid 2nd gear. I went to the service people, they updated the software, but with no use. vibration increased, so i returned again. they now informed me that they will change the clutch, and it will take 3 days to do that. Actually i am not sure about the dismantelling thing, especially that they won't change the full gear, but part of it, but what could i say except go ahead. I still didnt receive the car, but anyone has any ideas? Do i have the option to ask for a full gear box change, and shall i ask for that?

Hello guys,
I finally got the car. It seems ok; vibration disappeared, but it seems that they dismantelled everything.The front bumper seemed to have been dismantelled. Does anyone know whether they had to remove the AC as well or no, as now i am not sure is the cooling of the AC same or different.

They did my dsg upgrade a while back, and at 32000km i had to change the clutch starting to piss me off

Hopefully it will have no more problems, but do you know what exactly they dismantelled to reach the clutch? I am a little bit suspicious, and i need to check if they put everything back as it was

It doesn't need the front bumper off. But access to the front left inner wheel arch behind the mudliner is needed, so front bumper screws in the wheel arch will have to be taken out.

Access is from underneath. ie. Engine cover underneath, left wheel arch mud liner out which means removing some of the torx bolts in the forward side of the front left wheel arch. Then its access from there into the lower left side engine bay. Obviously drive shafts disconnected & gearbox out.

It seems that VW has released a new part to resolve the issue with the tremble. A dealer told us that VW has issued o repair notice to all the dealers. Until i have more info for me it is still a rumor.

Any info from your dealers?

I had my clutch refitted after this new part was released, (summer 2012). The problem is back again. Grr
