I have to say that you can't really feel it so much when you change the springs - always feels hard

I've tried mine in all 3 settings. I thought sport on a country lane didn't feel much different to leaving it in normal. I also tried it in comfort on a stretch of road that has a series of stripes and ridges in it, which made me feel sick! I'm now leaving it in normal all the time.
My previous car was a Ford Focus Zetec, which I think actually had better ride and handling than the Scirocco , especially when being driven 'enthusiastically'... Discuss!

Define 'better handling'. I had a Zetec some years ago too, and my 'Roc is, to my mind, the better handling car. Perhaps not a better ride though, I'll grant you.
Handling is very subjective in my eyes - my previous car was RWD and handled better than the 'Roc, but I can very well see why some people might prefer the handling of a FWD car...

I think the Focus had a sharper turn in and was more planted than my Scirocco is.
As a reasonably priced car from the mass market the Focus is unbeatable for it's handling (most of the motoring press seem to have agreed with me on that.)
I can see why some people might prefer the handling of a FWD car as well, progressive understeer is much easier for most people to control than sudden oversteer is. (The Focus has a tendency for the former but can be made to oversteer if you're pushing on, and know what you're doing. )
