I have had my Roc for a week now, and the more I look at it, the more it looks like an updated Corado rather than the Scirocco. I remember the original Scirocco being a larger more sharper edge model and the Corado was the smaller coupe/hatch, am I the only one who thinks this?

Re: Scirocco or Corado
Its spelt Corrado.
And that badly modifed car in the picture is not a good representation of the model.

Re: Scirocco or Corado
first scirocco renowed for being a drivers car was a corrado, mk 3 is a drivers car enough said, nearly 15 years of progress and performance levels similar between the vr6 and the 2.0tsi

I think of it as the successor to the Corrado, since i don't have much memory of the sciroccos, but always wanted a Corrado VR6 when i was younger. It's jsut a name though, they could just as easily have called it either.

Scirocco sounds better!!
Maybe they will bring back the Corrado name for that 2 seater roadster pictures were float around of a while back.

Re: Scirocco or Corado
To me the Corrado is still one of the best looking cars VW has ever made it really bothers me never owning one.
Thats why whenever I saw the Scirocco I had to have one.

Thanks for the corrections, i am not an expert I am afraid, it was just an observation and I think your pics (nice btw) show the likeness that I refer to.
I think Scirocco sounds better too, but I do look forward to seeing the name Corrado on the roads one day.

Re: Scirocco or Corrado
In reality the Corrado was the Mk3 Scirocco as it was the the third generation VW coupe and the direct replacement / successor to the Scirocco. They just changed the name as they did with the Jetta, Bora, Vento etc.
You could argue that following the direct lineage the new rocco is the Mk4 coupe.
