Well further to my previous thread (Another Scirocco or a Golf Gti) I am just back from the dealers With a new car order form in my back pocket
After a lot of dithering one way then the other mainly over not wanting the same car twice i have done just that and ordered another Scirocco spec as follows
Scirocco 210 bhp GT DSG
Metallic Indium Grey
Panoramic Sunroof
Dynaudio Upgrade
Cruise Control
Rear Parking Sensors
Bluetooth Handsfree Phone Prep
Plus Mats, Metal Pedals & Door Sill Trims to be fitted prior to delivery
All in all very happy and hopefully with the difference in spec between my current Scirocco and the new one it won't feel the same
Welcome to the second Scirocco owners club lol! You won't be disapointed everything is just a little bit better in the later models. My only dislike is the change in colour of the touch screen control buttons from black to grey it looks cheap.

Be interesting to find out how many people go back for seconds!

I'm in the second Scirocco club too, or I will be when my RB170TDI arrives for end of month pick-up. I hope VW have sorted most of the squeaks and rattles on my current one. I assume (and hope) there was a bit of a learning curve for the new model, and lessons have been learnt for the newer ones.

Ive read before that through vag-com you can change between: black/red, green/black, or the latest version grey black. Another way is when the delaer puts in the code for the screen, you tell him what color you wish it to be ohh congrats on the second order silver , but if you went for seconds why didnt you go for an r?

Worst case 6months hoping for 5. Won't know until the order is accepted by the factory though.
Salesman did say there has been a slight delay on 2 litre petrol and DSG combination but only by a couple of weeks. I can live with that.
This is nothing compared to someone I know who ordered a diesel automatic Hyundai IX35 and has been told to expect a 2 year wait
Guess what.... he cancelled and took a manual that was already in the country.
Despite the fact my first one hasn't quite arrived on my drive yet, I can't see me changing much in 3 years time - there are no cars on the horizon that fit my requirements and budget, however I will hopefully be jumping to an R (or maybe an S3 or even an RS3!) but the R was just so good and looks better.
That said a 370z has always appealed but it's not so fun on the company car tax register!
I've just ordered my first one today and I have goosebumps just thinking about the day when it arrives (is this normal??!!). I've gone for the rising blue. I can see myself following you with a second one in three years' time tho - I don't think there's any other make to touch it!
