That was my understanding.. I'm not 100% sure though.maisbitt wrote:Caput: Are you sure the 170 TDI comes with bluemotion technology now? The C02 levels for the engine haven't dropped, nor has the fuel economy improved according to the brochure. The original C02 levels of the 140TDI are hugely different to those of the bluemotion version (which now attracts a £35 tax disc), but the 170 figures stay the same.

I'm thinking not on the 170 - they'd make a big deal of it if they had put bluemotion on, and probably add another few hundred quid to the list (as you could see with the 140 when you could get with and without bluemotion tech, for a price difference).
Must've been some other parts issue with the 170 causing the delays. If it's only a few hundred quid to add, VW should just do it, if they can scrape the C02 rating below 120g/km - it'd pay for itself in less than 3 years with the tax disc savings

I feel your pain mate, ordered Sept 2010 mine should be delivered April / May, been told it was new regs coming in 2012 for diesel engines to lower emissions. Been in Nissan today getting my Quashqai serviced and was told by them if I ordered a diesel Nissan in Sept 2010 I won't be getting it till August 2011, looks like it s happening at other manufacturers as well. Keep positive it will soon fly by ( i hope lol)

Re: Waiting on roc for ages.... getting annoyed with wait no
There is no sense in the ordering to delivery ratio. Both my son and I ordered a Scirocco each, mid January from the same dealer, at the same time. His arrived in Sheerness last Friday and I haven't even got a build date yet. His is a white-170GT, mine a 140GT in Viper green. Is there an explanation. Neither car had any options specified.
I'm now getting frustrated at my dealer who doesn't seem interested in chasing anything up.

Stephen,
best get your commision/order number from the dealer and try ringing VW customer services. your son's 170GT could have been a cancelled order, or a pre-specc'd one from the dealer...

Funny you should say that re cancelled order. His was a straightforward factory order and was accepted by VW two weeks after ordering. Mine was a change to an existing order that the dealer had placed before Christmas and they assumed mine would come first. I wonder if the pre Xmas delays involve my car ? I hear that a change in emmissions on the 140 diesel has caused an order backlog.
only time will tell.

My brother is thinking of ordering one, but dealer said 6 months. This still normal?
Re: Waiting on roc for ages.... getting annoyed with wait no
Depends on the dealer and whether they've used up a load of their allocation or not, so are having to delay submitting orders. Some people that have ordered recently seem to be getting their cars delivered within the more usual 12 week or so timescale.JamesCB wrote:My brother is thinking of ordering one, but dealer said 6 months. Re: Waiting on roc for ages.... getting annoyed with wait no
I've been back to the dealer and confirmed pick up for my son's roc next Thursday. He's over the moon.
No news on mine yet. They suggest Ocy or November delivery but no build date. He is going to duplicate the order on 1st of May but switch to a 170TDi to see which comes first. This sounds a little odd to me. It suggests that new orders are getting priority. Anyone else experienced anything like this
