Cancelling order

Post by frosttt »

Hi All,

I would like to have your input on this. Maybe you could help me.

I have ordered a new Scirocco that has been delivered while I am abroad but I might have an opportunity to get a job abroad and I do not know if it would be possible to cancel it. I have paid my deposit but nothing else. In the event that I got that job, do you think it would be possible to cancel it? I believe the Dealer has already started some registration under my name despite I have told him that the chance of a cancellation might exist.

Thank you very much in advance for letting me know your input on this.

Kind regards

Firstly you need to confirm that is the job yours or just a chance thats the first thing you need to sort.

The dealer would keep your deposit I would of thought and maybe even chase you for the balance, but the best advise would be is to speak to your dealer and explain the situation.

I don't mean to sound harsh or blunt are you sure its not just buyers remorse.

As dinger said, you most likely won't be getting your deposit back (since they're now stuck with an additional car). And obviously depending on the driving side, why don't you take the car with you?

The deposit is a surety that you pay to the dealer to show that you are serious about buying the car. Otherwise anyone could go in to dealers and ask them to order cars for them with little intention of buying them.
Bear in mind that there is a cost to the dealer in processing and handling your order and if you back out he's got a car he's paid for with no buyer, so he's paying interest on that until its sold to someone else.

Hi,

Thanks for all the responses and sorry for the delay in coming back.

I have visited them to tell them that I got the job abroad and unfortunately the car has the steering wheel on the wrong side. I asked if they could sell one with it on the right side but they told me that they are not allowed to do that.

I will chase them tomorrow and let you know.

Thanks one more time for all the help.

Best regards
