170 owners plz help

Iv had my car three day now and when I rev the car it making a high pitch tickin noise, now is this normal or do I have a problem with my car? Any help greatly appreciated.

do you have an idea where it is coming from?

Its coming from the engine bay somewhere don't really know exactly where but only happens when I rev the engine.

it could be that issue with the dry clutch. you have to look elsewhere in the forum. I forgot the details but i had it for a while, but lately it seems have disappeared.

but i recall it was a DSG related issue, and you have a manual.

does it happen when you rev the engine whilst standing still?

my noise used to occur on the move.

Its more noticeable when stood still but can hear it when moving with the windows down.

You've had the car for three days - is it new or pre-owned ?

Also, when you "rev the car" how many RPM is shown on the dial ?

And do you rev it from cold, or when the engine has warmed up ?

It brand new only done 250 miles, when I first noticed it the car was warm and it wouldn't rev past 2.5k rpm, I got in it this morning and couldn't here it when I gave it a few revs. So it might be only when the engine is warm.

My car does this as well regardless if its hot or cold, not sure as to where it coming from either. i can hear it clearly when driving along with the window open. Any luck on finding out what it is?

i havent mate, i had the bonnet up today and had a good listen and as far as i can tell it coming from around the fuel filter/rail area. it dosnt do it straight away but say about a min of running the engine and it starts doing it. gonna take it in on sat and have the delears have a listen. will let you know what they say.
