What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

I ordered mine through Twickenham. I must say that they've been excellent and phoned me every step of the way! Very pleased with the service and I really hope I'm over the moon with the car. Still a little nervous though as I've never ordered a new car before!!!

After much faffing by the lease company, my order finally went in end of Jan (started process in Sept!).

Been given an estimated delivery date of end of July. Ho-hum... (tell me it'll be sooner!)

V just means it has been accepted.... given when you ordered i'd be surprised if you had a build date yet. Ordered mine Jan 24th and only got confirmed build date last week.... will be built in 2 weeks, with me early to mid May.

No worries, a few folks have had them sooner... certainly doesn't seem to be as long as a wait as it was mid way through last year though, some folks haven't got them yet!!!

Ordered 28th Dec, confirmed build week 17, seems a long time but tbh when I ordered the car the dealer said ‘going by previous orders were looking at mid May to possibly early June’ he was being honest and he was right, I’ve got no complaints. Can’t wait though

I finally have a confirmed build week, Yeesssss its week 17 with delivery approx 3 week after that so that by my estimate is some where mid May for collection and I can get rid of the BMW which is now starting to be a pain with alloys corroding, non functoning USB and dealers who try and charge you £350 for unessary work covered by warrentee

Does sound like you're being taken for a bit of a ride to me! I ordered at the end of February through a dealer and my car has been built and is awaiting shipping. Was built almost exactly one month after ordering so I don't think it could be an issue with VW having poor allocation. Most likely is that the leasing company you're using doesn't have allocation I would think!!

I'd phone and ask them what's going on as people have already received cars that they have ordered this year through dealers. Sorry to hear that it's been a pain in the arse for you.

Ouch - it does seem to come down to this allocation malarkey.... that is taking the piss a bit though!!!

Im going to have to do some complaining, they are obviously pushing me back and selling the allocations to personal customers as they know i will just have to wait. Might write to autoexpress or something like that. I feel pretty helpless though as i dont really have any bargaining chips as im not actually paying any money. well apart from when my contract begins.

Does anyone know any specific details i can get hold of, maybe order numbers, the dealership it will be coming from. I dont know how it works, i just need somewhere to start i guess.

The same thing happened 5 years back with an audi a3, which i cancelled after it took over 12 months! I ordered an astra sporthatch which came in 6 weeks!!

My 1.4 160 dsg only took 11 weeks from day of order, 5th jan 2011. At dealers 22 March 2011. Yours sounds far to long. I'd have some serious words with them. No excuse at all why it should take that long. Portugal plant even has more machinery now to push through cars at a much faster rate now, 200 extra a week.

Got hold of my order number today, and gave the dealer in wakefield a call. They have now said its set to be build week 19, and arrive second week of june. But the guy didnt seem too sure, as he said their could be slippage!! He said some crap about china stealing all the orders, and VW UK underestimating demand back in 2009, and now the backlog is still effecting new 2010/11 orders, hhmmmm dont think so, just up the production maybe?!?! not rocket science, they didnt have any issues with production in 1939 with the Panzer Model

Anyway the lease car company said they will chase every week for me, but i still feel like im being taken for a ride, for a second, I had considered the corsa vxr blue edition which i was told didnt have these stupid wait times, but i think im getting a little too old at to be a boy racer
