WTF Can you believe this!

Post by mortc002 »

Call today after 6 months of waiting to say car ready, paper work in post.....................................

However, the sales man who entered my order onto the system 'forgot' to add the Dynaudio pack.
They cannot retrofit this so have reduced the price accordingly.

At what point did they think this would be acceptable?

ATM I am thinking of just looking round for a stock car with another leasing company or perhaps I should request some extras that can be retrofitted.

On top of this my courtesy car (at VW's cost) is only with me until this Friday!

Any recommendations?

I'd take the money. I think the standard system is fine and it probably doesn't add a lot to resale value.

Thanks Kev,

I am not concerned about resale value as leased.

As I don't have a GT version any recommendations as to what would be useful/fair to requested.

I'm thinking rear parking sensors (audio only retrofitted) Perhaps bluetooth?

x3 .. or use the money to get a cheaper / custom third party system (viewtopic.php?f=25&t=6461&hilit=dynaudi ... ive#p58585" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

The problem I have is that as on lease I have no money in my back pocket (just a slightly lower monthly payment.
And again as leased any money I spend will be lost so installing something myself is not an option :-(

Yeah in all seriously the Dynaudio upgrade is prolly not worth the £450 cost.

Can the dealer not upgrade the speakers for you if u are that bothered about the SQ. Plenty After Market options available for £450 fitted I'd imagine.

Well they cant retro fit dynaudio and they have provisionally offered to include bluetooth and parking sensors.
I have to wait for tmrw am for confirmation but will ask about a more basic 'speaker upgrade' but it wont be amped so not sure if that would be better than the above mentioned

I dunno I have the standard system and wish I had upgraded it. I should really get an aftermarket system but I am incredibly lazy. If you enjoy music a lot and have reasonably discerning tastes the base system might be a disappointment IMO.

I would be seriously pi*sed if that happened to me - if you like your music (and by ordering it in the first place I assume you do) for the price it is one of the best oem audio options out there IMHO - and doing aftermarket is probably not that feasible on a lease car, unless you put the standard stuff back in when you hand it back? It also involves quite a lot more work than just popping out the speakers, as shown by pics of other people on here that have done it. That said, if you can get some more stuff out if them, it may minimise the pain - ask for the extra Bluetooth / sensors, etc in addition to the payment discount - it was their fault after all, speak directly to the business manager at the dealer. I remember read another thread where they let the guy drive around in the 'reject car' until a new one was ordered and gave him Xenons on his new order as compo!!

I found the thread mentioned http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... ror#p57687" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; -
I will have a look now as currently they are offering bluetooth and parking sensors but without any price reduction!!

If sicourt is referring to Stuaz (search stuaz & then look back through his posts) his car was originally supplied as a non GT when he had ordered a GT, yes he got to drive it around while the correct GT car was ordered and delivered but he didn't get xenons free that I can find.

Not so much a must as a big reassurance (and not the dealer fit one either). The visual representation to show direction of obstacle is very handy, and allows you to rely a little less on your rear view mirror and pivoting your neck like an owl to see through it.

If the dealer is fitting the audible parking sensors retro then I wouldn't be quite so keen (and you shouldn't pay more than about £150 for them if they're not the factory fit).

Well they're not really a must... i mean it does have mirrors!

Back to the OP, i'd get the Bluetooth and Parking Sensors as you've said but as a freebie... thus you get the lower payment on the lease but get more toys :)

My Dynaudio was left off to and the wait for the car was so long I didn't want to jeapoardise the fact by insisting it was added. It's a shame as it's really good as far as OEM goes... but to be fair, the standard system isn't bad actually!

Thanks for the comment (and those above) what did you get (if anything) for Dynaudio not being included?

I have been given a price (30 pm extra) on a provisional week 17 170 GT Diesel with bluetooth dyaudio, dab and parking sensors so might take that offer up should they not come back with a decent offer

In answer to the original question, yes I can believe it - the dealer with whom I first placed the order for mine forgot to order the whole car!

See my other comments in your other thread... personally the 170 was a big disappointment in comparison but it does depend on the driving you do and what you want from the car. Is hard to argue with a good offer if you get one though!
