Guys,
I was just browsing the main German VW site, and looking at the gallery photos of the Scirocco. I noticed what I thought was a third stalk under the indicator stalk for CC. I've attached the image (which I've processed in PS to lighten the shadows a little), and it definately shows a thrird stalk (see below)
It looks to me like the stalk from a Passat CC as below:
This seems to tie in with the latest version of ETKA which shows this for the 2012 model year
Any of you guys got a 2011 model yet with CC that can confirm it's moved from a little rocker switch on the indicator stalk to a new third stalk. I'm staill about 2 weeks away from picking the car up at the moment so can't check for myself. Just interested really.

For some reason I don't like the cruise stalk on the Passat - much prefer the rocker switches on top and end of the single stalk. Guess it makes sense to have a single module across the range though.

I would prefer the rocker switch as before. I don't want another stalk and more scattered controls. Less is more (and maybe safer?)
Re: New cruise control for 2011 models ?
A little off-topic but i think the only one that has got the cruise right is Mercedes.
Separate stalk and you immediately figure out how to use it.... unlike in i.e. SAAB where it's still a little mystery for me how it works.

Ok Picked up the new wheels & just back home in Southampton.
The CC is the rocker type, no change, and not on a separate stalk!
Regards

Thats the same as my last Audi A3 setup and also my mates new Passat CC. I dont mind either way and not the end of the world.
If you see S9 CTC driving around give us a wave I do 40,000 miles a year it gets lonely out there
Re: New cruise control for 2011 models ?
Having used both.
I much prefer the separate stalk. Dead easy to use, press the end to engage at current speed, one flick up increases by 1mph, one flick down reduces.
Flick towards you to resume, away to cancel, and fully away to switch off. So much more positive movements.
My Roc R had the rocker, and my current car has the separate stalk.
Both are very good, but I prefer separate.
Edit - changing gear on my current car does not cancel the Cruise either, foot brake does.
