De'badging your Roc.

If you asked your dealer to debadge your Roc before you collected it,what would expect to be left on the car.

They took off every badge apart from the "Bluemotion one as he said that they have pins on the back of them that fix to the bodywork and this would leave holes .?????

Should defo just leave the VW badges. Dealer is taking my VW badges off to replace them with my black ones before i pick it up. Dealer's taking off Scirocco and TSI badges.

When i had mine done he asked me what i wanted taking off, but i think they should assume most people still want the vw ones on as that is normally what is left when people have their cars debadged

My dealer would only let me take either the engine or the Scirocco badge off the back. They said they couldn't do both. Decided to have the engine one taken off and heard that dental floss is a good tool to remove the other badge if I want to in the future. What's best to get the glue off and not damage the paint?

Im assuming they left the VW ones as well as the bluemotion, if they are using pins its would be an obvious tactic to plug their "greener" cars on the road, however that means the bluemotion's must have different rear boots in the production phase, as i cant imagine the factory worker drill's the holes during production ?!

For removal: Use a hairdryer for a couple of mins about 6 inches away to heat the glue, then use dental floss or a smooth piece of plastic and gently "cut" the letters off, then use some bug & tar remover to get the tack off

Thanks for the tip! Didn't like the red lettering on the back with the White paint. Might decide to keep 'Roc' on!

Oh right. Is it done at the dealer rather than at the factory then? It seemed that on the computer they could only select one or the other to be deleted but not both. I've bought mine from Twickenham.

Removing the R badge at the factory wasn't an option but i asked my dealer if they could remove it (glad i didn't in the end)

but they refused to do it due to previous problems of leaving residue/marks and customers complaining and making them respray the rear tail gate!

Yeah, dealer said they would sort out whatever i wanted when the car arrives to them, inc changing original vw badges with my black ones, and weld fit my oem gt chrome exhaust tips.

why do people de-badge their cars? it's one thing I have never understood. Is it embarrassment?, if someone is ashamed to own a diesel why buy it in thr first place?

the rear of the rocco looks far cleaner with badges removed, also unless you have a dark colour the chrome doesn't do it for me, if i had a R that would also go becasue its location looks like the result of a pin the tail on a donkey competition, oddly i won't remove them off the golf as looks naked without them

Do you have a picture of the bluemotion badge?

This is the only bit of the car I will probably dislike when I pick mine up!

I have ordered my Scirocco with the badge delete option, not because I'm embarrassed about getting a diesel, but because I think the car looks much better without the badges.

As I'm getting a 'Volkswagen Scirocco GT BlueMotion Technology 2.0TDI 140 DSG', removing the badges might help with the power to weight ratio too!

It does and you do lose down force on the rear.

We're very embarassed driving a VW Roc coming from a BMW ......NOT,

our was it makes the rear less clustered.

I just didn't like the red engine badge on the back of a White car. Not embarrassed at all here... 1.4 (160) TSI on the way. Can't wait!!!!

Keeping the red tsi, think it looks ok against the blue. At least now the t is also in red. Scirocco badge going cos dont like the look of the chrome on blue. Each to their own!!
