Nope. My dealer said 3M1 970 161 AC does not exist (Danish VW), and the German VW dealer I called also said that it does not exist.Shadow_Blue wrote:Yes it can be (not sure if there be able to get) or in another place (which is cheaper) just wish the cable ...
Thanks.

Yes, but those are the Golf parts.DAR wrote:Lead part number and camera below, taken from the invoice used on the last one I fitted.

I do realise that they fit perfectly, but are male-female instead of female-male.

As far as I understand, that would be male to male.Shadow_Blue wrote:Will be able to connect the camera cable from the Golf to the camera of the Scirocco...
Just stick with Golf cable & Golf camera.
(I have not had them in my hands, so any corrections are welcome)

Re: Rear View Camera
You are thinking of the complete camera assembly, as pictured in the OP182_blue wrote:I might be confused by what your saying but the Golf camera is completely different, I.e built into the boot badge ?
I am referring to five posts above, with partnumbers for the Gof 5 camera without housing. As pictured in the Roccopedia article.

Return Scirocco Camera
Buy Golf 5 Camera & Golf 5 cable
Option 2:
Buy Golf 5 cable and cut cable and solder it onto Scirocco camera.

Re: Rear View Camera
I've been asking in another topic about updating my rcd to the latest rns. However I've seen various ones for sale and I can't see the necessary connection for the rear view camera which I plan to do also. Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for so that I can add the camera at a later stage.

Re: Rear View Camera
All the RNS's should be able to take the camera with the right Firmware, however i would personally prefer to have the latest C version with the star button and new screen.BAIKAR wrote:I've been asking in another topic about updating my rcd to the latest rns. Re: Rear View Camera
The right firmware? Did yours have the connection on the rear for the camera? I know the screen is better on the latest versions but what's special about the star button?

Re: Rear View Camera
Nothing is better about the button, its just a way of spotting the better screen C version , ps mine has the connection for the camera, every genuine RNS510 should have the connection for the camera, for firmware if you get the latest unit it will have the right FW on it.BAIKAR wrote:The right firmware? Re: Rear View Camera
Thanks for that. One other thing. Can someone explain the confusion over the two choices of camera, either golf or scirocco. Why would anyone have ordered the parts for a golf when there are specific part numbers for the scirocco?

Re: Rear View Camera
I too have tried to just order the 3M1 aerial lead and it is not a part number available to order directly. Anyone thinking of this project should just stick to ordering the golf one to save anymore confusion.

Re: Rear View Camera
Just received my 3w0 parts and I've just tried a first fit. Cant seem to fit the camera in the holder then attach the clip to hold the camera in place. There are two plastic cylinders on the back of the camera that stops the clip going far enough into the holder for it to catch. Do you have to drill holes in the clip or cut the cylinders off the camera?

Thanks for that. Did you have any luck with the wiring loom diagram from your friend?
