Same here for my 2.0 tsi. A leisurely 90 mile drive. Normally 30ish though.

57mpg trip average doing a constant 80mph on an 80 mile round trip between North Shields and Hartlepool on the A19. If i'd stuck at 70mph, i'm sure i'd have cracked 65mpg.

Trip computer showed 44mpg after a 250 mile (mostly motorway) run to Glasgow in my TSI 210. Did a quick calculation when I filled up and reckon it was actually 39-40.

On a 120 mile trip from Yorkshire to Shropshire, I managed 43.5mpg, but had to drive like an old man to get it :)

On my 0.8 mile trip to work, I'm lucky if I get 18mpg - lowest ever was 6.5mpg!!!

I got 39.6mpg this morning in my 2.0 gt tsi. Mainly through towns and A roads, so was quietly impressed. Although it was half term. :D

just been to the lake district mountain biking, 85 miles each way, 46mpg on the way up doing 75-80mph and 56mpg on the way back doing 65mph. This is the first time I have driven any distance since I got the Rocco so quite pleased really.

I really can't believe you use the car to drive 0.8 miles to work, you joking right.

Recently getting low to mid 50s on the 11 mile commute. I was really surprised when I got 60.2 yesterday without really trying.

Must have been the warmer weather or something, cos it sure wasn't Driving Miss Daisy !

Why is it damaging?

We've all got to do the first 0.8miles, haven't we? Why does it damage the engine if it has to stop rather than continue?

Oh, and 41.1mpg calculated after seven 56mile round trips to work.

You can trim 2 to 3 mpg off your MFD folks.

I was getting around 40mpg average on a 40 mile run today, (fast 'ish A roads). - Gallon each way!! Jeez that still cost me nearly £12 in petrol alone.
