Ok well here's the news :
Got the estimate from VW for the damage. They have fully examined the suspension now and have found damage (and needing replacement) to the following :
Wheel Hub
Wheel Bearing
Lower Wishbone
Lower ball joint
Shock Absorber
Estimated cost to repair....£1700!!! Insurance time we think! What an idiot the guy is, no more sponsorship deals from us!!

Re: Newly acquired Scirocco GT needs some love!!!
Thought i'd post a quick update for those interested.
Firstly, the gymnast has been officially de-sponsered with a stiff letter. Personally I would sent him the bill, but there you go.
Secondly, last Tuesday I picked up the 4 alloys we bought from Beezer. Have to say, all were mint and just as described! A++++
Thirdly, picked the car up today. £1,400 lighter from the repair bill, and £650 from the wheels, and she's driving very nicely indeed.
One of the original faults with the car was it was stuck in sports mode. They tried to update the software, but couldn't and eventually found a cable disconnected, plugged back in and updated successfully and suspension works fine.
So i've now got it for 4 weeks while I wait for my new Mazda 6 Sport to come in. Gonna be a nice 4 weeks I think!!

Aah, excellent, glad it's all sorted okay now Andy. Been waiting to hear your update.
Pleased that you're happy with the wheels & I hope you enjoyed your brief visit to Devon! (and big thanks to Andy [wigit] for the heads up)
What are the company's plans for the rocco when your new Mazda arrives?

Andy, the wheels are excellent and It was a pleasure to meet you!.
Regarding the rocco, well unfortunately it's not really a suitable company car and as such, unless anyone wants to buy it, it will be chopped in against some new vans I think. Shame as it's such a nice car If I were single, I would have been able to keep it I think, but as we have an RX8, I need a bigger car really. Plus the missus doens't like the white and truffle leather! !!!!
