I need help picking a colour.

Post by gibbsy »

Right, the good news is that I'm definately going to order a Rocco when my local dealer re-opens on Wednesday. :yummy: But I'm really struggeling with the colour. Don't want white or red. Viper green is for the youngsters out there, although I do like it. Silver, well there are a lot of silver cars locally. Black, there is a stunning example locally but I'm afraid of it showing too many scratches, as happened with my previous black car. Rising blue, I like it, my wife isn't so impressed. Night blue, very similar to the blue I had many years ago on a Honda Civic Vti and the wife likes that one. Sumatra, wife has ruled that one out. Indium grey, we both like this after seeing one just the other day.

That's the problem with the Rocco, they are so few and far between on the road that you just cannot get to grips with the colours in the real world. :?

So, in order of preference here are our top three:
1 Indium Grey
2 Night Blue
3 Rising Blue

Remember you've got until Wednesday to help me, some photos would be good.

If not white, I like Dark maroon metallic. Almost brown...ish

Out of those i would go for Iridium Grey.

However, I'm obviously slightly biased, but I love my Sumatra.

I had never seen it "in the flesh" before I ordered, only from pictures on here and various other websites. I was delighted when I got it.

Lot darker than I expected and definitely not brown, as I was panicking a bit before it arrived.

I've also had a lot of comments on the colour, all positive, saying it's a bit different but really nice

thats my gf's scirocco, imo, that color looks perfect, different shade of grey at different angle! i would pick it too but i dont want both of the cars to have the same color so i picked CW instead, but i would take indium grey in a heart beat :D makes the car look so aggressive!

these photos doesnt not capture the real color, must see it in real life, much better than in photos

oh, and dont tell me to lower it for her...cus the oettinger bodykit was too low, and the front carbon lip has already got missing O_O so no more lowering for her.

Well my vote goes for Rising Blue (but I'm quite biased). It doesn't show the dirt as much as white or black for that matter.

How many VW dealers are there around where you live? If there are a few I'd call them all and see if anyone has got a Scirocco in Indium Grey so you can see it on the flesh. I've never seen one but it seems to be getting a lot of votes from the others.

I chose the Indium Grey without seeing in the flesh or even a paint sample at the steelers, but I'm very glad I did. My reasons were that although I like the Candy White and Rising Blue they seem to be the most common colour choices, so that ruled them out. My last car was a metallic black and although stunning when clean, it is a chore to keep it looking that way. Viper Green is beautiful but at nearly 47, I thought like you it may be a bit of a mid-life crisis colour - I was also worried it might attract the wrong type of attention. Our daily driver car is silver which is easy to keep looking good and I would choose the same colour again - but for me it is too boring for the Roc.

It's looking like it going to be the Indium grey. Can't wait for the dealer to open up after the holidays. Probably have another hour test drive (just because I can  ) on Thursday and then thrash out an order. So its a 170 Tdi GT with a DSG box. Just hope my dog will fit in the boot. :eyepop:

I'm a Grandfather and I've got a Viper Green - get loads of comments (from all ages) about what a fantastic colour it is.

i think the color is a reflection of your own personality.

i find VP green too extrovert. I am not shy but not that extrovert, so CW was for me ( and it was cheaper too!). If i was 10 yrs younger, def. V.green, considering my first car was a gold one and after , a red car.

I. Grey is kind of...understated sexy. Goes well with a light grey suit, white shirt without tie and brown belt & shoes.

Blues ... kind of corporate. safe and straight forward.

If VG is too much for you, how about Silver Leaf with black wheels? - I reckon that would make a fantastic sober/something special combo.

Just went on to the configurator to see what that would look like - and found that my spec has risen by £1300 since last May!

Edit: forgot about the VAT increase which accounts for £540 of the increase.
