Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Europe car rang me yesterday to discuss delivery of hire car as my 16 (really 20+ but heh ho) weeks is up , it will be a Passet like saloon what ever that is as Europe car don't provide Scirocco's on free rental
I assumme there may well be a tax implication as I am sort of getting a benefit (i.e. no maintenance costs etc )

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Ordered ours 31 Sep. Just heard we've got build week 4. Hopefully delivery March? Looking at other posts have my doubts if this will be the case but VW Ipswich been really good so far. Guess they can only tell me what they are being told. No one can help the weather and shipping delays. If it slips back, it's not the end of the world. Got a good trade in the longer we wait the better the deal becomes.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
If it makes build week 4 you should get it in the end of Feb if not before.
Dealer told me on friday that mine is unconfirmed for first week in Feb and depending on luck it should be 2-4 weeks after that into the dealers , He is promising only to keep if it for 2 days , I am not interested in march plate as it is a company car , the Lease company on the other hand.....
Dealer is pretty desparate to see the back of this car order , bare in mind it was originally ordered by them on July 31st!

You will be lucky to have a build date within 8-12 weeks most people on here are still waiting and they have ordered up to July for one. Sorry for the bad newsNAzUK wrote:Hi Peeps,

as Liam says 8-12 weeks is not at all realistic (personally I don't think the july order, JG400, is really able to be compared as the car has been reordered)
do not fret that you haven't been given a build week though, 1) the new system does not seem to be as informative as the old one in giving them, 2) not all dealers will inform you of every little change to your build date during the order period. motto being if you want to know/be kept informed of the information, Ask!

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Lets just be clear the reorder is the dealer trying to get around a stuck order not me changing anything . as far as I am concerned I ordered in July , in fact the original order is still in the system and still hasn't movedtrix wrote:NazUK

I did ask the lease company if the re-order would move me to the back of the queue and they assurred me it wouldn't so it is as valid a experience as anybody.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Well this is a joke, ordered vehicle on 13th September, still no build week, was told on 22 Oct that I would get a free support vehicle on the 11th Jan 2011 (16 week build deadline) Just been informed by dealer that VW have changed rules on support vehicles and I will no longer be getting it ! ! !
it's an absolute f&^king discrace, this needs to go to the media ! ! ! ! !

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Spoke to my dealer today with no more success.
I was told a week ago that VW would be releasing an update on all Roc orders (whether just with that specific dealer or across the board I am unsure) within 48 hours. Apparently the update has not come in as promised from VW. So I am approaching my third projected date of 24 Dec (20 Aug, then 24 October, and 24 December the third projected date). I don't even have a build week confirmed. That is an based on an original order of early May 2010, which was reportedly lost in the system change by VW and as such was reordered on 17 August.
I don't even get particularly annoyed about the delay now, I expect it!

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Legs...
I'd hang in there...I ordered a R DSG on 10/06/10 and I also had several possible build dates put back and I voiced my desire to cancel on several occasions with no change in VW's complacency.
The build date was only forthcoming when I took delivery of the VW hire car and within a week or two of almost cancelling I had a provisional built date and this date was actually brought forward by 2 weeks.
Surprisingly, VW seem to have lost control of the entire process and they may not suffer in 2010 but somewhere near 2014 when todays customers are changing. Personally, unless the R is very, very, very special I will not be near a VW showroom in 2014.
Keep er lit.... I have and I don't regret it..... yet.... I'll update you in January 2011.....
Stephen.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
I just though I would wish everyone who is waiting on a Scirocco a very Merry Christmas! (and those that already have them!)
I ordered mid Sep, accepted by factory early Oct, still no build date and rough estimates are 'Marchish'
Due a courtesy car at the end of Jan so if I have any problems getting this I will share my experiences.
In the meantime lets be glad we don't have to ruin our Roc's in the Snow!

I ordered my Scirocco mid July, I've just been told to expect delivery in March after several months of delays, the dealer had to put through a 2nd order on the system otherwise I would've been waiting longer apparently.

Check your order is not stuck in the system, mine was and the dealer had to create a second order ,it sounds like A3toscirocco's was as well, apparently there is a software issue with orders placed at the point the system was changed and when the dealers try and modify the order with the new blue motion engine the dealer told me that the new system will not allow them to modify the old order and had to raise a new order , also both of you guys should be okay to request support cars due to the original order datetrickster1 wrote:I have also been waiting since Mid July, I'm getting a bit fed up of with VW still no build date and no news of when there will be one

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
I seem to be very lucky, paid a €500 deposit on Nov 1st, the car was ordered by the Dealer on Nov 4th or 5th and I was told I would have by the end of Jan. Got a phone call from the Dealer on Dec 23rd to say the car had arrived early in Dublin Port and would be available early Jan
The Dealer confirmed today that they will get delivery of the car tomorrow and I can collect from Fri onwards!!!
Delighted but worried that perhaps it's not my car as it was so fast, less than 7 weeks from order being placed to it landing in the Country
Having read the previous posts it seems orders to Ireland are not affected?

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Just got back from ordering my Rocco from Capitol VW Merthyr Tydfil. So far really excellent service with them, giving me two long test drives of 45 minutes.
On the order form it has simply:
Delivery date End May
However, the salesman has said that most of their recent orders have come in before time. He has promised to phone me and keep me updated at the beginning of every month.
