Waiting on roc for ages - Will we get a hire car from VW?

Hi,

I ordered a 2l tdi in August throught a leasing deal that was supposed to be delivered in Nov...

but Ive been caught up in this engine change and not expecting it till Feb/march!

I was going to cancel....
but I was told by my leasing company that VW have now agreed to give hire cars to anybody that was expecting before xmas??

I was told this a few weeks ago but not heard anything since.... My leasing company is not answering emails now and seem to be screening calls and never call back!

Is anybody in same situation..... and know if VW are going to give a hire car in meantime and if we will get it before xmas?

i got my hire car while waiting for an R. You have to wait a minimum of 16 -20 weeks before they will pay out for one. I have had a Skoda Octavia and a Vauxhall insignia through a hire car company.

Ive was told its not the leasing company but actually VW that are giving out the cars due to there muck up....

VW organise it via a loan company like Europa Car etc.

Im reading with interest, my 16 weeks are up tomorrow on my 170 GT Tdi. Lease car company has told me im due a hire car but havn't hear anything from the dealer to give me confidence that they will honour this agreement. I have an order number but no build week. What makes it worse is that my Tiguan Goes back on Friday so i could be car less......

Apparently I have just been told that I cant get a hire car till christmas eve... which convently means I probably wont get it till after xmas..

its interesting to know about the 16 to 18 week thing, I am currently on just over 16 weeks, but if I dont get a car till after xmas then it will be past 18...

Im in the similar situation as you SB..... I have a very old car, the only reason I ordered the car as it said NOV delivery..... still no build date!
Ive since spent £600+ on repairs when the cold weather hit!... My car has now nearly packed in and I dont want to spend more fixing it

I got an email from the dealer yesterday asking for a hire car to be arranged for delivery tomorrow, no contact from the dealer today will keep you all posted in the morning.

Getting my hire car monday , as has been said before he (or she) who shouts loudest (Plus it helps if you company has a very large Company car scheme with plenty of manufacturers to pick from )

Ordered mine July 30th , VW accepted August 31, got stuck in system , reordered Nov , latest unconfirmed build week early Feb , expected delivery March
