Coming up to two trouble-free years of Roc ownership and I finally find out how the arm rest works - doh!
Despite having previously dismantled and rebuilt the arm rest I still couldn't get it to slide as per the manual.
Yesterday I was in a mate's MK5 golf and he had the arm rest extended and the penny finally dropped.
It's just the covered cloth/leather bit that slides

tbh I wouldn't use it much any way - It's not much use when I'm chucking the roc around the lanes
More for the motorway runs.
Not surprised nobody else has owned up, but I reckon there's someone out there who is grateful for the clue....

I honestly don't believe so. First thing I noticed about the arm rest after opening it was it had a little dip to grip underneath. That's all I needed.
I also use it 90% of the time when driving, not just on motorways. I do sit a little forward to fully enjoy it, but it's nice to rest on and have my hand on the gear stick with the right hand on the wheel and elbow on the door rest.

I didn't realise it slid forwards at all, never mind not knowing how it slid. Still, I've only had the car since August.

Sorry - it does what?!? Seriously, I've owned the car since the last week of July and nothing's slid anywhere except the windows...

It's also neat how it fixes up at various angles until you reach a click then it goes flat again.
