I don't thinks it's just down to VW (If at all) who are giving the poor service it seem's to me what i read on here, it's people who have orderd through lease companys. I orderd 24th of September this year and within 3 weeks i got a build date of week 44 (last week) and should be at the dealers for first week of December.suli_din wrote:VW ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES!!
I'm cancelling my order and getting another car on contract hire in stock.
Will never get a VW in my life due to problems I've had.
Placed order in September now they're telling me March April. It is a nice car, but not worth waiting that long for.
For as long as I live, will be telling everyone about VW's poor manufacturing and customer service.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Getting a bit annoyed about this myself now. My dealer has been very fourth coming, in terms of telling me where I am, but my est bulid date of week 49 is now pie in the sky. He called VW last week asking what the reason was, but they never came back to him. He reckons there is an issue with components on the vehicles not being made quickly enough. Apparently all CC and Scirocco orders are being pushed with no confirmed build dates in sight.
He has started discussing alternatives with me, but that is kind of putting me in a catch 22, I want a white one, I want it with all the latest equipment, and at the moment there only 1 while one in the country, but I don't know when that was built and if it will have the next heater controls etc. if I chose another colour I end up paying more for a colour I don't really want..
A bit disheartened at the moment, but I do feel the car is worth waiting on, I just wish someone at VW would take notice at how many customers are sitting in the dark here. £25k is a lot of money to part with for the service I (and my dealer) is getting.

Hey there sorry to hear you have decided to cancel, I know you ordered thru the same company as me...did they say something new that madecyou decide to cancel? I agree ther service from all parties in the supply chain is appalling (wherthervyou ordered 6 weeks or 6 months ago) ther is just so much confusion it's impossible to get a straight answer with any confidence of it being accurate?suli_din wrote:VW ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES!!

Finally after waiting since august!
I ordered my candy White GT 140ps Tdi with black laguno 19" and today out of the blue I got a confirmed build week week 50. My dealer said any one with the laguno black pack will be getting build dates issued this week so good luck people.
Can't wait for my Roc

I'm getting close to telling them to stick it too, I don't think they have much appreciation for peoples situations. Mega pissed off because I should've had my car by now & my current car has broken down today. That will be more money down the drain

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
I previously ranted about my order being made end of April/start of May 2010 with no progress at mid-Oct 2010. I have now discovered that the dealer ordered my car (on behalf of my lease company - on behalf of my work - on behalf of me - too many cooks?!) during the system change VW had; and it was stalled and lost from the system. The Aberdeen based company now indicate that they reordered my car on 17 August (initial order by me end April/start of May). I spoke to the dealer last week and they are still not able to give me a build date. The lease company claims to have looked into my concerns about the service I'm getting but cannot speed things up. "But I'll get the Bluemotion engine at no extra cost" they confirmed on Friday (lucky me!).
I'm gonna be close to a 1 year wait at this rate! I'd be more annoyed were it not for the fact the lease company won't take away my current Golf GT Sport until they are in a position to deliver my Roc, but still - get your finger out guys!

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
I have sort of gone through the mill on this and am coming to the conclusion that VW are storing these for us during winter , however on the down side I see more and more on the road by the day so by the time mine arrives it will be more common than the Fiesta (opps sorry I meant to type Audi A3 )
I did consider a Volvo C30 at one point I probably would have got that by now!
However there seems little point cancelling as any new car you picked would take another 3 months.

Spare a thought for my friend. She ordered a new Alfa Gulietta the other day, she delayed transit because she was in new york last week, but the carrier is was on coming up from down south crashed and her car was written off. She has another 3 month wait or the option to get it in a different colour. That would be a killer...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Got the following back from my dealer last night:
As I said when you placed the order you will be held in a waitlist with an earliest delivery of March 2011. Your vehicle has an order number which it keeps all through the production cycle and when built it gets a Chassis number aswell. There are numerous reasons given by VW for possible delays and these have varied over the past few months to include: Dsg, Bi-Xenon, Multi function steering wheels, restricted supply of radios, Parking sensors etc. There was a fire at a supplier but I beleive this only related to the "R" model. As I said when you asked when you chase me look at December to talk.
Ordered 31st October 2010.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
I've now been told that Jan 2011 delivery is not going to happen, est build week is week 6/7. So that means March delivery (if I'm lucky)
Getting ready to give Volkswagen a massive f**k you! Think I might go for an Alfa Giulietta instead

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
8th September, so that's more or less 10 weeks to the day without a build date, it's just not good enough. The Alfa Veloce would cost a bit more, Lusso is more or less the same price.JG400 wrote:Douchebag wrote:I've now been told that Jan 2011 delivery is not going to happen, est build week is week 6/7. The key thing is that I could have one by Jan 2011, like actually have one, not pretend that one is being made for then. What a novel idea..

Nor is the attitude of the dealers, when I called to discuss the order the Account manager (for the lease company I'm using) said '...I can sell all the Sciroccos I can get...'! The inference being go cancel, so what!
Really want the car, can cope with (some) delay...its the indifference and p*ss poor communications I am finding annoying and disrespectful...they should remember that one day they may not be able to sell all their allocation...and then they'll want repeat business!

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
After being told that it would be possibly next March when my car would arrive i cancelled and then went around a number of lease companies to ask what they could find. Lo! last Monday I received delivery of my Scirocco 2.0 GT Tsi in Deep Black with sat-nav/DVD/rear parking sensors et al!! I am ecstatic and it is MUCH better than I anticipated - the performance is just breath-taking. My advice - stick it out people - you will not be dissappointed! I'll post a photo of my new vehicle if I can work out how to do it!!

Everyone has the right to be 'winging' if their car is not delivered as promised rather than being taken for a ride by these dealers.Rocco-liam wrote:Your not the only one that has been waiting since September. Cancelled my order today, VW obviously aren't on top of this situation so I refuse to entertain their bullshit any longer. I hope others choose to do the same & vote with their feet.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
I must say I understand those who are a litte bit angry due to the severe delays from VW, but I'd hang in there cause it's probably worth waiting for.
I'm waiting for a black rocco myself, and actually thoght about cancelling my order some weeks ago. However suddenly got a confirmed build week, which is this week (46), and was told that I most likely would have the car before christmas. If this is correct it's a four month build/delivery time from which I placed the order (dealer estimated three months when ordering).
This is my first brand new car, so can't wait to get the black beauty!
