Delivery of my new Rocco

Post by nshawsy »

I am starting to get annoyed with VW now!>

I ordered my Rocco in August and still haven't received an order date?....what is the crack with that?..

I have ordered it through a finance company but will it make a difference? if i go into a VW dealership and ask for details will they be able to tell me?..

Hope someone will be able to shed some light on the situation because i am getting SFA from VW!!!!!

It seem very strange guys. My dealer was telling me last night that the latest bulletin from VW stated that there where no significant delays on new Scirocco (excluding the R).

You might find your dealer has used his allocation for the year and might be waiting on their 2011 allocation to kick in.

I'd definitely check to see if that's what's happening, and if it is check they have put the order through come the new year. That's what happened with mine, and the 3rd lot of clowns I tried to order a car with completely forgot to put it through - finally confessing a week after it should have been delivered what they'd done. They were told exactly what they could do with their order!

Have you tried one of those companies that claims to search out the best price? - I used one (sorry I forget which now) and told them the criteria wasn't price, but early delivery - that very same day I was talking to a dealer and placing an order that cut 8 weeks off what the local place could do (once they could be bothered to get off their backsides to actually try and sell a car). I then simply told the contract hire company (who are also a lease company) that's where I wanted them to get it from. Meant a 420 mile round trip to collect it - but 210 of those miles were very enjoyable.

Mine was ordered in August, and I believe it's sat at the dealers now. I have been given the reg number etc, but still not allowed it till January.

Damn company cars.

Whats their reason for keeping it until January, my order is a company car and the dealer has assurred me I will get it within 3 days of it arriving at their showroom/ (of course I have no expectation of it being delivered before january!)

My existing company car doesn't go back till January - and we're buying that, so need to leave it as late as possible!

This is something I find very odd about VW as well as the delays/lack of communication on order progress - the VW dealer thought they were really pulling their finger out getting the car to me 3 days after the car was delivered to them, but every other new car I've had (bar one which I wasn't ready to take) has been delivered to me on the same day it's arrived at the dealers (Vauxhall (three times), Ford (twice) Alfa Romeo, Mazda and Mini are the relevant makes) - if others can do it why not VW?

Pre inspection and prep takes time (if it's done properly). Removing all the transport films and waxes, cleaning up the interior and making sure everything is present and working.

You'd be surprised how mucky some cars are inside and out when they arrive at the dealers. If they were only getting a few cars in then same day/next day might be possible, but if the dealership has a lot of cars coming through then waiting up to a week could be considered normal.

It's hard to believe they took delivery of a car that's not due to be delivered to the customer until Jan. The dealer must be charging VW for storage.
