Winter - anyone have a car cover – recommendations?

Post by mrbojangles »

I am debating whether to get a car cover (either for the whole car, or one that covers the windows)

I had my first bad experience of the cold weather this morning with the door windows being frozen shut and taking ages to clear. Lots of de-icer and some warm water was required and then the windows got confused with closing etc

I was considering getting some silicone/ Gummipfledge/krytox to try (as suggested in a recent thread), but wondered if a cover may be a good alternative.

Anyone use a car cover and/or have recommendations for one? Doesn’t have to be fancy, but something that won’t damage the car

Cheers

A full cover would be a real PITA to put on every frosty night and take off again in the morning - and where are you going to store a damp cover when its not in use.
A screen cover would remove the need to defrost your windscreen but would do nothing for the door windows.
I used Gummipfledge for the first time the other week and it seems to be far better than the silicone spray I've tried before but I doubt that it would be 100% effective against frozen windows on a really cold icy morning.
The best solution is a carport
