aerial cables -RNS 510

Post by Candy Monster »

noticed when I took my shark fin aerial off the roof the other week that there are 2 cables, 1 with a blue plug and 1 with a purple plug. The blue is for the sat nav i think but what about the purple one? This was not connected to anything - i'm guessing it's TV. Any ideas?

FM is in the side window
GSM for the "Premium" "Bluetooth" is on the roof
DAB (digital FM) is on the roof

Anybody know where a factory fitted GPS arrial is?

I think (99% sure) that the DAB aerial is on the windows along with the FM ones. The GPS and GSM aerials only are on the roof.

The roof aerial comes in various forms and sizes.

MY2008 has a sting aerial for DAB and the GPS/AM-FM Radio/Telephone is in the fin, fin unit sizes vary.

MY2009 onwards has three aerials assigned to the roof. But there are different aerial units containing certain combinations from DAB, GSM, GPS.
MY2009 onwards models. FM /AM Radio transferred to the rear side window aerials on the glass as brown tracks. Both sides FM Radio, left side (additional pattern on the glass) is AM Radio also.
MY2009 onwards with RCD510 radio fit has a dummy aerial in the centre of the rear roof area as it only needs the side glass aerials.

How do You get the sharkfin off?

Do You have to remove the roof lining?

Is it difficult to get back together without leaving a sacking roof lining?
