The Dynaudio option in SA is equivalent to around £1050, I now ask you is it worth taking it over the standard system,
it does however include the RCD 510 in that price which costs around £250 on its own

I can certainly vouch for the difference a sub gives to the overall sound experience as I have one as part of the Bowers & Wilkins setup in my Jaguar XKR. No premium sound system should be fitted without a sub IMO.

The Dynaudio option is simply not worth it in SA! IMO
its a good system, good clean mid bass, crisp highs, decent staging, lacking low end response (to be expected as it does not have a dedicated Sub).
but not worth the asking price here in SA.
If it were the same price as in the UK I would have ticked the box myself.

If you want there are official dynaudio agents in SA who will do a much nicer system for a lot less.

Highly doubt you will find a set of Dyns brand new , an amp etc and have it installed for less than the factory upgrade option. I am running Dyns in all my cars (aftermarket) and they are expensive. I did however win my category in SQ last year overall with a 13yo set of Dyns. Danes do not lie!

Flash you could be right, its been a very long time since I had a look at the Dyn price list
The importer is a bud so i'm going to visit him this weekend to try and help The_Roc out.

I love the older Dyn stuff, however when I decide to fit a new system to my Roc I will be fitting DLS (http://www.dls.se" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
as I have used there products for years personally and SQ comp use. They have provided me with but 1000's of hours
of trouble free audio bliss for years.

I will say this, if anyone is going to fit a new audio system always go and have a listen to the products before you but anything
audio is very subjective and what sounds good to others might not to you.

thanks for the advice, it does seem good value, although i have always retro fitted kit as I am leasing the car there seemed little poitn so the additonal £12 per month seems worth it! :-)

Is it possible to get the RNS 510 and stock speakers, and then afterwards have better speakers and an extra amp installed while it still works with the RNS 510 ? Or do you have to put in another system in the dash ?

You can get something to sit inline, like an Audison BitOne, which takes the standard output, sorts it out and gives you RCA terminals to run to amps, it's not cheap though.

I collected my Scirocco with Dynaudio sound system last Saturday. I listen to mainly opera music when driving and have found the sound to be very disappointing so far. The sound is tinny and not at all 'full'. I have adjusted the tone and balance to every imaginable setting but have yet to be satisfied. I am already considering that I need to go to a car audio specialist to see if they agree that the sound is lacking and, if so, consider my options. Are there any experts on classical music (opera in particular) that know more than I do about this and could advise?

I don't think any system with small speakers can perform well without a dedicated sub, I would imagine than anything under 120kHz will just be dumped by the speakers. I have a KEF 3005SE surround sound being driven by a Denon 2310 amp but the crossover still needs to be set at 80kHz to be a good full sound, especially on music. I would imagine the cones on the speakers in the Roc are half the size of the KEFs.

In my experience nothing beats the Bang & Olufsen, heaven in the DBS! R8 was epic too, im a big Bang and Olufsen fan and as stated its not all about bass but it depends on what you like.....and what you listen too of course. I'll never have an ideal sound system in my car, whilst i love miles davis, santana, script, eagles, rolling stones etc i also love prodigy, house, electro etc so i have to settle for a compromise. personally bose isnt for me and i think the closest ive came across to b&o would be hamman karden but i think dynaudio is pretty high up the board to be totally honest. Im very picky (comes from working for bang and oulfsen when i was younger) but i think dynaudio isnt a bad attempt at all hence why i ordered it but i do understand what people have said about lacking bass!! - just my thoughts for what its worth
