Do you have the mounting brackets at your hands? Is it possible to post a photo of these two? (I mean the 3WO... parts). I'm still waiting them from my dealer.

SteveP wrote:I think it will be just about possible to route the cable down to the top of the number plate recess but to fix the camera mounting bracket properly and avoiding damaging anything else when making the hole for the camera will mean the bumper removal is the best way IMHO.

Compared to the install of the camera on the Mk5 Golf, popping a bumper off is very easy unlike the tailgate trim on the Golfs.
Yeh I have just been looking on Elsa for bumper removal and it's only about 8 screws

Finally the camera mounting parts are due to arrive tomorrow at the dealers, but on the plus side thanks to DaveB for the loan of his Rocco I have been able to dry fit the plug and play wiring loom I have been working on and it all works fine. :)

The coding required is as per the Golf's, so open the Navigation (37) controller and select coding, then long coding helper, then in the forth block (byte 3) set bit 6 to on (shown as "Backup Camera Low"), close the long coding and saving the new coding. Reboot the RNS-510 by pressing the "<" & ">" & "i" button.

Also confirmed to get the camera into the ideal place, by the number plate lights, the bumper will need to be removed and a small hole drilling

This is the part I have also reached. Just a question. Why do you have fullscreen view?

The view will depend on the firmware if you have an RNS or will always be non fullscreen if you have an RCD-510.

You will have firmware 1100, DaveB's car has 2670.

The controls are available under a pop-side menu. The fullscreen view is slightly stretched but I much prefer it.

No you can't select the option, it will always default to fullscreen with the pop out controls.

The other change is if your car is equipped with parking sensors you get an overlay of the optic sensors on the screen as well: -
