I got the front mats thrown in by my dealer, but not rear mats. Any suggestions for plain black rear mats? I don't need anything fancy, just something that fits reasonably well.

the standard rear mats are plain black, can't find the part number at the moment but they are identical to the mk 5 golf rear mats.
(rubber rear mats part number is 1K0 061 511 041 & price £24.20 so they can't be too much more)

Standard plain black factory mats carry the part number for a set of 4 as 1K2 863 011H - Black, which suggests not available as rears only from the Parts Dept.
Luxury rear mats have the part number 1K2 061 276 PAW GK. About £35. I doubt if the factory mats are that much cheaper. And as Trix says, Golf Mk5's will do the trick.
