Re: Bi-Xenon's
in order to keep technically the right side of the law you'd need the winter pack (headlight washers) if you retrofitted them

I found at US site that you can get whole headlights for 600€. I wonder if it will be available in europe and for how much. In Poland there was no xenon option when I ordered mine Scirocco.

Re: Bi-Xenon's
headlight washers are NOT needed by law - Xenons HAVE to be self levelling, that's all - but quite tricky to retro fit I'd imagine

With regards to the line that says "although no government inspection will take place", I think the car will fail when eventually going for an MOT.Therefore a HID headlamp unit sold in the after market should:
2. when fitted to the vehicle should enable ECE Regulation 48 to be complied with (although no government inspection will take place).
In practice this means:
2. Once fitted to the vehicle it must have headlamp cleaning and self-levelling (which can be for the headlamp or can be in the vehicle suspension - some expensive estate cars have "self-levelling suspension" and that is adequate). Also the dipped beam must stay on with the main beam.
It's dated December 2006, I think they really need to review it again for 2009.
