This is driving me nuts.
Up till last night my Iphone worked perrrrfect in my Roc and last night I updated the software on the Iphone and now I get a message when connecting to the stereo "device not supported"
The Iphone does charge through the lead but the stereo no longer displays the media in as if it does not recognise the Iphone.
I have read lots of people are having problems since this upgraded software and wondered if anyone here was having the problems>>?

Re: iphone not working
I get that message (Got it before the Software update as well) alot of "non" Apple products will give that message. Its a pretty standard message.
Mine still works though. Try rebooting the phone. Also let your stereo actually turn off (When you turn the engine the stereo goes into standby for X period of time) so try tomorrow morning and it should be fine.

I'm running a 3GS on iOS4 and I too get the 'device not supported' message - it's a slightly different message than the one you get with iOS3 - but it still doesn't affect playback for me either. In fact, I've not noticed any difference with playback since upgrading the OS.

Re: iphone not working
My 3G with iOS4 is still working fine after the update.
The iPhone occasionally displays "Device not connected" when connected through a dock etc, but still works. This is normally just because one of the pins hasn't connected fully, so the iPhone doesn't recognise what the connection is. Trying cleaning the fluff out of your dock connector.

Re: iphone not working
I had the same issue a couple of months back when my iPhone (3GS) suddenly stopped working. I booked it in with VW and they replaced the MDI unit. Got the car back it works perfectly as it did before.
Hope this helps.
