Re: Cars into VW...
well its back in again, this time to have the rear screen as two of the heating elements (right in my line of sight) don't work, & haven't done since I got it but obviously I only noticed once the weather got colder & darker.
they spouted something about they can't just touch up the paint on it as they wouldn't be able to replace it fully later on as a warranty claim so it has to be a full new one, which i don't mind but... surprise surprise its on back order! so I might be waiting a while

oh & the courtesy car this time was a petrol polo which had abit more poke than the diesel version (as expected) but tonnes of body roll & what felt like a very high centre of gravity, oh & a handbrake with lots of play again.
the previous person had kindly left it already on the redline of the fuel tank but as I only had to go a 3 miles up the road & back to work I managed to not put any in teehee

Re: Cars into VW...
rear screen was replaced last week, first opportunity to check it a different heating element doesn't work, not quite in my line of sight but still annoying. dealer is putting a tech report into MK to see what to do now as the screen is very likely on back order still, stand by for an update later...
oh & i've got the hamster squeek too but i solve that by turning the radio up or changing gear at a different time for now.
S
update: second new rear screen, more than likely, here i come!

Re: Cars into VW...
my rear screen has two faulty heater elements in the middle off the screen, needs booking in at dealers, common fault?
Re: Cars into VW...
think i'm the only other one with the problem so far alymac.. unless anyone else speaks up now (or forever holds their peace..)

second new rear screen here I come! (they had the sense to check all the earths etc for the rear screen this time & its definitely a small break in the element rather than my car

Re: Cars into VW...
Bringing up an old post but oh well.
The 180PS and 150PS 1.4TSI engines found in the Ibiza range have also got the squeaking problem. A Seat Tech owns a Boc like mine had this issue and fitted the new designed pump. it was fine for a while but has just started again. He's on 11k miles now. Not sure when it was changed.
Any developments at the VW end?

Re: Cars into VW...
the squeek hasn't been resolved by vw yet, they have got another redesign on the table but no definite fix BUT a few of us have found it does disappear of its own accord after a while mine certainly has & I believe RW1's has too

Re: Cars into VW...
Mine doesn't seem to be doing it ATM come to think of it.. haha strange.
I noticed it a few months back. There were people talking about it on a forum so thought and come and have a look if you guys had been suffering.
I'll keep an eye on it.
Cheers
