Poorly Scirocco

Post by jimbo070688 »

I was driving on the m40 last week when my Scirocco lost all power when i pulled over there was a strong smell of petrol and there was lots of smoke coming out the back.

Anyway long story short VW have had my car nearly a week, they initially thought it was the fuel pump but called today and said that it is not that and it might be the fuel injectors system but cant say for sure!

Has anyone else had and any experince of this?

typical VW muppets.

if its the injectors, how can it create strong smell of petrol? (which i presume u told them about)

if injectors were blocked and kaput (or fuel pump), it would mean no fuel would go into the engine. last thing you'd smell would be petrol then!

tell them to check the spark plugs and coil packs (which are way more common) or even the turbo!

I know nothing about this sort of stuff so left it with them but will definatly be on the phone tomorrow.

There was also what i thought was excess fuel coming our of the exhaust as if it was pumping to much fuel!
