Re: window will not drop due to ice
alternatively you can use a good silicon spray to keep them in good condition all year round or krytox which is more resilliant to washing

Re: window will not drop due to ice
when i realise this had been a big problem for a lot of people, i had bought a bottle of einszett rubber care gummi pflege before i collected the car last week. Google it and you will find a lot of people selling it.
i recall somewhere inthis forum people were recommending this product.
i immediatly put some on but since i had the car for only a day before leaving for italy on business, so i cannot confirm whether it has worked or not.
i know the night before spray, but isn't that for the glass ? won't the chemicals inside attack the rubber?

JUST THINK OFF THE DAMAGE DONE WITH SCRAPERTO RUBBER SEAL.

Please don't type all in capitals, it is considered shouting & rude.
Also I have just googled the product & found a few people saying that if it gets into the rubber seals/windscreen wipers it causes smearing (ie when using electric windows if its got on the lower seal) & damage and rot the rubber. So I would recommend it may be better to find an alternative product for the rubber seals such as those mentioned above.

I keep an old credit card in my wallet and run this carefully between rubber and window before unlocking.

Re: window will not drop due to ice
Wouldn't recommend this technique on the bottom horizontal window rubber. Its the sort of rubber seal that will rip as the edge lip seal is thin rubber only like a wiper blade edge. Better off using de-icer or concentrated screen washer in a sprayer.Richard A wrote:I keep an old credit card in my wallet and run this carefully between rubber and window before unlocking.

Re: window will not drop due to ice
Since recieving my roc there have been lots of frosty mornings...some when my car was covered.
I coated the insides of the window seals (upper and lower) with silicone spray the day i got it. They haven't froze once.
To 'de-ice' i use a two 4 pint milk container filled with luke warm water......de-ices in seconds (i've done this for twenty years and never had a cracked window).

Do exactly the same but used the EOS rubber lubricant.rocccosiffredi wrote:Since recieving my roc there have been lots of frosty mornings...some when my car was covered.

I need to take a look at the frameless windows on BMW's, 119 D sport for instance. Any one know what sort of problems they are having?

Re: window will not drop due to ice
Spraying Silicone on the rubbers works for me but the spray gets everywhere even when covering up. Has anyone tried silicone grease?
