VW fitted mats
Does anyone have any close-up decent resolution photos of VW's rubber and/or carpet fitted mats ? Trying to decide which of the two to ask my dealer to fit before taking delivery. Many thanks.

Re: VW fitted mats
i 've just picked mine up on sat and the dealer gave me the fitted mat. its fairly standard, not the thick one. i think its better to have the mat version because you can dry your shoes.

Get the carpet mats. Who on earth wouldn't have carpet mats given the choice?

Re: VW fitted mats
aren't front carpet mats standard with the GT anyway?
Re: VW fitted mats
no, just the R
smithy
if they are throwing them in free then i'd err towards the carpet ones, the rubber ones are great for wet weather (mine have been in the car all through the winter & are in great nick still) but very cheap to pick up. personally i've got some carpet ones too for the summer/dry months

Re: VW fitted mats
Alas the dealer won't throw any mats in -- just a tank of fuel (which is annoying as I am foregoing the option to have it driven 200miles by them to my house -- no way am I letting them be the first to drive it!).
Ideally I'd get carpet and rubber and change them with the seasons but then we're up to £125 in total for the VW ones. Anyone know of any after-market (web?) sellers that do tailored Scirocco mats at a lower price?

Re: VW fitted mats
I got genuine carpet ones from someone on ebay for half the rrp (they had to get rid of their roc due to job circumstances) so worth keeping as eye out.. & the rubber ones direct from the dealer as they are peanuts by comparison. Otherwise CandyMonster has got some nice ones from Autostyle piccies in this topic here

Re: VW fitted mats
Are there two versions of the carpet fitted mat? Spotted some allegedly genuine VW mats on eBay at a good price. The mats on eBay are plain, but I am sure I have seen a picture of a carpet mat somewhere that had the Scirocco logo embroidered on it ?skyblues11 wrote:i 've just picked mine up on sat and the dealer gave me the fitted mat. its fairly standard, not the thick one. i think its better to have the mat version because you can dry your shoes.

Re: VW fitted mats
I've just picked up a set of the 4 luxury crpet mats from VW for £50 and the front mats do have the Scirocco logo on them. The rears are standard Golf rear mats. (I got them from a friend that works in a parts dept)
Re: VW fitted mats
nice going lancs lad
smithy yes there are there are the luxury ones (with scirocco on them) or the ones fitted in the factory if you have them on your order from the start which are plain.

Re: VW fitted mats
to be honest, if the dealer did not give me the plain mats FOC, i would have no problem with those cheap ones from wilko.
they are much lighter ( those thick bespoek ones weights at least several kilos!) and at the end of the day, they will just get grubby and dusty when you bash it against a wall. Easier to chuck them away.

Re: VW fitted mats
I'm not sure about this. I ordered premium mats with my Roc - which seem quite good. But I've also seen those mats with the Scirocco logo (and white piping ?) and feel a bit disappointed now.smithy1311 wrote:Are there two versions of the carpet fitted mat? Not sure but they may the VW dealer accessory mats as opposed to the factory fitted mats. I'd be interested to know.
Re: VW fitted mats
dealer/factory fit are plain & called premium, aftermarket oem (with scirocco written on them) are called luxury
