Updating map software

Post by Algoz66 »

As the title says, how do I update mapping software on Sat-nav?
I work at Heathrow, and this morning my map showed me driving through green fields where the new T5 roads should be!

P.S. How do I determine which version mapping I have installed?

You need to enable the not-so-secret secret menu in the radio.

You could also just download the newest map, v6, burn it to a DVD and stick it in the radio.
If it is newer, then it will automatically copy the data to radio.
If it isn't it will just spit it out again.

thanks - this sounds clandestine! Can I find a link to learn how to enable the "not-so-secret" menu?

The DVD I was supplied with in March last year when I got the car was West Europe v3. If VW have now released v6, it makes me wonder whether I was given an out of date version, as it seems unlikely that there would have been three updates in just 12 months.

Does anyone know the release dates of each version?

Thanks.

Thanks Bianco - not in middle of nowhere, but sometimes it looks like I'm doing some x-country through the fields.
