some advice needed please!!

Hi Rockers,

I ordered a 1.4tsi scirocco on 1st August 2009, via an online broker (http://www.autofindersbakewell.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). I managed to get a really good deal with plenty of options plus the scrappage scheme option. I was initially advised I should expect delivery to be around november/december, but after reading through the various posts here I always knew it was going to be a long shot with all the delays in production etc...

I've been relatively patient and have often called them every few weeks to find out if they had any updates...so far still no confirmation of any build date. Before christmas they advised that I would have to wait for a March delivery, meaning I'd get a MY10 vehicle!

Today I called and the lady on the phone said they're now expecting April/May!! When I asked her why, she said the following:

- Orders delayed due to high demand (which is understandable).
- I asked if my scrappage allowance would be affected, which she said she didn't know.
- I advised her of the fact that some people were getting their build orders despite having ordered after I did, but again she couldn't really explain why this was.
- Then she said VW were building ONLY 1 SCIROCCO PER MONTH!!! I was just gobsmacked and I didn't know what to say! Even though i thought she was talking utter BS, I couldn't really challenge her because I don't even know if this is true!! Surely it can't be true?!?!
- Resulting from this, I then said I probably won't be guaranteed an April/May delivery and she somewhat agreed

Now, I feel completely lost and don't really want to make a direct complaint to them until i've made myself familiar with the real facts, so I would really appreciate some sound advice on how to deal with this.

Does VW prioritise direct orders from those coming from third parties (brokers etc)??
Is it true they're building only one car per month?!?! Someone tell me this isn't true!!
Does anyone know if i would lose my scrappage allowance?!
Is there anything else i'm really missing out here?!?

Well I know for certain that they build more than one Scirocco a month!

I can't remember the exact date that the finance for the scrappage scheme runs out but I'm pretty sure it's imminent. You might want to have a read through here:

you have 4 months from placing your order to scrapping your car. I was getting close to the 4 month window with my order about October.

My dealer cancelled my scrappage application and reapplied therefore extending it for another 4 months.

most likely their allocations were used up hence the delay on your order

not true she probably means they have an allocation of 1 scirocco build slot per month (stupid woman )

don't blame you, my recommendation would be to get your com number from them (comission number which is basically the order number for your order on the central vw system, not necessarily the one on your invoice docs) feel free to get arsey!ring vw customer services & kick up some serious stink about the timescale you have been waiting as this is well above average & personally i would be looking to remove your order from this broker & place it elsewhere as you are getting what sounds like disgraceful service!!!

the broker would have to go through a main dealer (I ordered through broadspeed & this was certainly the case with them & any other broker orders i've heard about

no she doesn't have a clue what shes talking about, as above what she most likely means is they have one build slot or allocation per month

as above if it looks like its running close to the wire & there are still funds left in the scrappage pot they can reapply however they don't seem to know their arse from their elbow so doubt they could grasp this fact

cancel your order with this 'broker' take your hard earned cash elsewhere, kick up stink in doing so & good luck
